Fake Greek Coin sold on eBay by
Dave Welsh
An eBay auction (closed August 4) sold a Macedonian tetradrachm, positively
identified as a fake by Cliff Laubstein, who reported this on the Coin
Forgery Discussion List (CFDL):
I don't believe everything I read on that forum, but in this case I think...

2001 Canadian Nickel And Dimes with errors by
sbullet
I have a Canadian 2001 nickel that has 3 big circles of copper showing.
Does this make the coin more valuable. I can provide scans if
nexessary. I also have several 2001 Canadian dimes that appear to have
mint errors on almost all of the letters on the Queen's bust side. The
errors are that from...

The spoof that wasn't by
Mr. Jaggers
A couple weeks ago I reported that I had been receiving emails from "eBay"
about my watched items having been relisted. The first time they were not
items that I had ever watched, but the second time one of the items was very
similar to what I would be watching, and the other was exactly...

What is a cameo finish? by
Michael
Having never really collected certified coins, I would like to know
what is meant by the term cameo when used in the grading of both proof
and mint state coins?

Broken Die £2 UK on eBay by
wiz
Thanks for looking, here is the item.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300018741837
2001 £2 coin, presumably stamped with a broken die. About 13mm of error, or
for those like myself who are getting on a bit, half an inch...
Go to my web page first, a good scan there, both...

2000P New Hampsire on Dime Stock by
Harvey Bastacky
I picked up what appears to be a 2000P
New Hampshire quarter that appears to be struck on dime stock. The weight is
about 5.4 Grams instead of 5.7
grams. Details around the rim are very poor and the
reverse looks like an AG coin. Anyone else heard of
state quarters on dime stock??

matroxindol 150023495996 - US 1922 no D Lincoln Wheat Cent AU-Counterfeit by
Ira
The auction referred to in the title contains a poor die cast
counterfeit apparaently from the same molds as the one I brought to
everyone's attention here about 10 days ago or so.. I wrote to seller
and he wrote back that I should mind my own business. This fraud and
scammer has been reported to...

WTB: Holed type coins by
Reid Goldsborough
This was buried in another thread at the end of a longish message, so
I thought I'd post a shortened version here.
I'm building a wacky little type set of holed coins that I can find
for under $10, coins that don't have any other serious damage, that
don't have a hole obscuring the date, and that...

Best day yet! by
Amistad
On our two-mile walk this afternoon, my wife and I found six Zincolns (two
badly marred from the traffic) scattered along the way, and a white plastic
Fender guitar pick. Hey, things are lookin' up! ;-)

FS: Dansco 7070 Page 6 Bicentennial Modern US Coinage by
Jonathan_ATC
I thought I had to order the page separately from the 7070 album. Evidently
it is included.
Page 6, Bicentennial, Modern US Coinage page.
I paid about $4.75 for it including shipping.
Make me an offer so I can get it off my hands. It just reminds me how naive
I was when buying a well known...

Help with Morgan die anomaly. Liberty's eyeball? by
Cliff Lawless
Hi everybody.
Any of you ever see this anomaly on a 1900-P?
I believe it's Vam 15 (date in normal position but slanted with the 1 very
close to the rim). On this coin it looks like Liberty has an eyeball. This
is a raised area on the coin so it must be part of the die. It's not real
obvious...

FS: 1996 Prestige Proof Set by
[email protected]
I have one set I would like to sell. It is original condition and
includes the box and COA.
There is a blurred mark (smudge?) around the wording on commemorative
rowing coin. It appears to be on the Plastic. Looks as though the
wording scratched the plastic or possibly original imperfection...
