Swiss circulating coinage? by
[email protected]
Hi all,
It looks like I am going to be in Switzerland in late March for a
scienctific conference. (Being a grad student isn't all sacrifice...)
I have a bunch of higher-denomination Swiss coins that I am
considering using as pocket money, but I wanted to check that they are
still legal tender and...

Superbowl curse by
Dale Hallmark
Ok I admit it, I am not a football fan and I forgot that the superbowl
was today. I had 9 auctions ending today and only four sold.
Well these were not US coins and not likely to draw all that much attention
under the best of conditions but a couple that I thought surely will sell
for a
dollar or...

Got my first Morgan today! by
chasd2
Didn't purchase it, but came from a small collection of coins my
Grandmother had.
An 1879 no mint mark. I'm not expert at grading, but if I follow the
Redbook grades, it seems like a VF.
Very nice coin, first time I've ever seen one. Its got me interested in
picking up a few more.

first coin by
Tom Daley
I read the posts in this news group everyday and have even posted a couple
of times. We all have one thing in common and that is our interest in coins.
I still have my very first coin that I collected and I would never sell it.
It is an 1883 liberty head nickel( no cents). It was my favorite...

FA: Three small cents, two Linclons and an Indian by
Randy Thompson
This week I listed three nice, but lower value cents that were
duplicates in my collection. If you collect small cents in XF-AU you
might want to take a look.
1899 Indian Cent, XF45
1909 VDB Linclon, AU58 RB
1914 Lincoln, XF45

I think I learned something today. by
Ken Knapp
Hi All!
As some may know, I'm trying to combine my collecting with buying and
selling coins. Since there was a coin show today I thought I'd go and do a
little vest pocket dealing. Now I have amassed a lot of coins and at
generally decent prices, so I thought I would be able to move a lot of...

Miserable Half Dime by
Larry Louks
I guess this shows that folks will buy any and everything on eBay, but I
can't imagine giving $15 for a coin such as this:

Here's a Lesson in False Advertising by
COLUMBO
Check out this guy's coin auctions, and the phoney headers and
descriptions:

And, I guess by eBay standards, he's legit.

Type vs. Variety Question by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I have a question. This probably has been asked many times, but
what is the distinction between a type and a variety? For example, is
the Silver Washington Quarter a different type than the Clad Washington
Quarter? What about the Wartime Nickels? Is the Copper-Plated Zinc
cent...

Help from Krause Standard Catalog by
Roland Watson
Could some helpful person possibly tell me what the Krause 2004 or 2005
entry for the Leopold II Belgian 1868 Five Francs coin states?
I am curious to compare it against what I have been getting on eBay.
Thanks,
Roland.

Out of the big PNG member dealers of US coins how many still sell mostly
just the coin without a third party slab holder? Stacks and Julian
