Reverse design of 2010 Sac by
Michael G. Koerner
In case anyone didn't yet notice, the USMint has unveiled the design for the
2010 Sac.
It is at:
http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/nativeamerican/?action=2010NADesign
I actually kind of like this one.

eBay's Big 4 TPGs by
Petronius
In general prices realized are highest for PCGS, then NGC, ANACS and ICG.
ICG certified coins seem to command only a very slight premium over raw coins.
Why do you suppose the marketplace practically disregards ICG as a grading
entity?

Is It Really Best to Buy Key Dates? by
MikeO
I'm fairly new to collecting and I'm interested in making the right
purchases for long-term increases in value. I guess I'd be called an
investor/collector. I've read several articles & books saying that
you should buy key dates first because they usually increase in value
faster than non-key...

7 Pet Peeves about America by
Paul Anderson[_2_]
A blog with this subject offers some observations about things that
annoyed the author about the US after being abroad for a few years:

I found his first two peeves interesting.

Mint pushing Sacs by
mazorj
Around midnight I got an e-mail from the Mint offering 2009 Sacs in the $250
boxes. Sound like they've still got way too many in inventory to meet their
mandate.

Ancient coin auction, 467 lots, no reserves by
fsrcoin
Hi
My 77th auction of Ancient & early coins will close January 12; 467
lots, mostly unreserved, mostly interesting better material, but some
budget coins also; including group lots, literature, and a fixed price
section.
The catalog, with user-friendly pictures (one click to see 20-30
coins), is...

Weird GW 2007 S found in circulation by
mazorj
I got lucky at a local bank this week. Not only did they have some
customer-rolled quarters and dollars, but in a mixed roll of dollars, I
found a 2007 S (yes, S) GW dollar. There's something really funky about it.
There are fingerprints in some of the mirror-finish fields so it's been in...

Not checking my change when I purchase stuff by
Arizona Coin Collector
Hello
In checking my change tonight I got a 10 cent
coin from what I think may be from Mexico. It is
near the same size and shape to the U.S. Dime.
It has the following text "ESTA-DOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS".
It has a symbol of and eagle with a snake
in it's beak and it's claws grabbing a

Numismatist on PVC by
Reid Goldsborough[_2_]
There are three interesting columns in this month's Numismatist relating
to previous discussions here and touching upon the issue of truth and
misinformation in numismatics. With the first, the author of the
Collector's Edge column repeats the misinformation that soft flips cause
PVC damage...

Peace Dollars by
Cato
What do you think is a fair price for common date circulated Peace dollars in
fine or so consition.
I realize it is dependant on the price of silver but what is a fair markup?
A coin dealer near me sells 10 for $175.
Is that fair?

Your total hedge amount to "invest" is say $25,000.00
In the last 10 Years Gold has gone from a low of $255.38 to $1217.50
today as I post.
