Approximate Value/Number Printed? by
Anonymous Joe
OK, firstly:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3034727385&category=385
I don't run that auction, but I have the same item, in a condition that is
about F. Mine is from 1944.
I've had trouble finding any of these on eBay, there's only 2 that I've
found (searched under USSR and...

Something different about this $20 I found?? by
Anonymous Joe
Took out five $20s from my wallet, and was reading the series years, and
thought one of them said 1939 instead of 1999. I looked again, still said
it, so I thought maybe if I scan in just that part of the note, and look at
it on my PC I'll see for sure. Well, I still think it says 1939 instead...

Any value over $4? by
Anonymous Joe
Got some change back, thought they felt new, so I checked them out.
Series 2003 $1, Consecutives, L95906663A-L95906666A.
Noticed they were all "Satan" notes.
Any value over $4 for these as a set?

What would be the value of a $100 star? by
Anonymous Joe
Cashed $1,000 and got one 1996 $100 Star from the AE* block. The serial
number is not fancy or low, but is near the middle of the 320k made in
October 98 (the only time the AE* was made). I'd say it is in about AU50
grade.
Would this have any value over face?

Interesting, but does anybody know what it is? by
Anonymous Joe
http://page.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/auction/82011183?aucview=0x13
Interestingly enough, I had got something that looks similar (think it had
an orange back, but could have been yellow) as change once....but I thought
it was counterfeit (simply because it is not normal), so I exchanged it...

Old checks.... by
Anonymous Joe
Do old checks from the 1850s-1870s have any numistical value?
Not that I have any, but I worked at a college that had maybe about 100+ of
these old checks, not that they would be willing to sell them, since they
are part of the history.
FWIW, they are all in excellent condition, in terms of a...

What is the purpose of not having >$100? by
Anonymous Joe
Why'd we outlaw the $500+ denominations? Too easy for criminals to carry
large sums of money?
Then again, when was the last time you spent more than $500 on 1 thing or at
1 place and payed cash....

What would people think if the US started doing this by
Anonymous Joe
I think the large size currency had much more interesting designs.
I also believe now that we have the smaller currency, if we went back to the
large size currency, it would cost the government more, but would also be
more bulky and harder to handle, so we would have to keep the smaller...

Trying to identify a banknote.... by
Antifrance
I acquired a new note a few weeks ago, and I'm having a heck of a time
figuring out where it's from. My research is restricted to the Net
(I'm overseas with the military, so no access to catalogs and such),
and all of my searches have come up blank. I can't even find the
language.
Here's a couple...

Due to family illness, I just uncovered an extensive coin and paper money
collection as well as an assortment of Canadian first issue stamps (I think
the oldest are a .05$ issue. Neither collection has been touched in 30 +
years and I understand it started with my great grandfather.
