Archive with Graphite? by Jason McDingleberry
How well does graphite on paper age? If it isn't rubbed and just sits in a cintainer with nothing smearing the surface will it be OK? I'm putting something in a time capsule, the note must be handwritten and placed between two panes of glass with 1/8" (3mm) space.

Rotring 600 - was there a 1mm mech pencil? In lava? by [email protected]
I am madly and deeply in love with .9mm/1mm pencils. I currently use a rapidly wearing (but gorgeous!) cheapo Ticonderoga, with a twist-erase Pilot as a backup, but would like something more... substantive. I have heard tell of the Rotring 600 being made in 1mm, which I understand is identical to...

Gel Refill for Montblanc Rollerball? by Ray
I'd liked to convert my Montblanc rollerball into a gel ball. I like the rollerball, but I like gel balls even better. Is there a gel refill that fits a Montblanc rollerball?

Original Bic by J.B. Wood
This is probably a who-cares type of question but if one is of a certain age and remembers the original Bic "Crystal" (note not "Cristal"): I first encountered this non-retractable ballpoint pen as a kid in the early '60s and it sold for I think 15 or 19 cents at the local drug store. The look...

Original Bic Cristal Pen by J.B. Wood
Hello, all, and at the risk of revealing my age a bit of trivia: Back in the early 60s when the subject pen sold for 19 cents the "nose cone" was all made of solid brass. At that time Bic had TV ads where the pen was fired from a rifle, attached to the boot of a figure skater, etc to show how...

AD: Pelikan M75 GO! NOS $20 (worldwide shipping incl) by tburke0
I've got a number of new-old-stock Pelikan GO! pens in both red & green trim w/ M nibs. Has anyone ever seen these in other colors/nib widths? The praises of these inexpensive piston-filler pens have been sung on many of the pen boards, and make excellent starter pens, beater pens, and...

Mis-threaded Waterman Carene? by [email protected]
Late to this party, but there's an easy way to fix this. Thank you Fountain Pen Network. Unscrew the barrel, and holding the nib pointing up find the sold collar below the section threads. Loosen this collar, and you'll find the threads on the section come free. I had to remove my threads and...

Quick Reference Guide for Noodler's Ink by Tim McNamara
Given the near-total lack of activity in this newsgroup, only you and I seem to have seen this attack on Nathan's products. That said, I no longer use Private Reserve or Noodler's Ink because of clogging problems in my pens, including a couple that are just no longer usable (and I don't...
