Pilot Capless Decimo squeaks! by
Moira Perkins
Hi acpp,
I while ago I got a Pilot Capless (standard model, broad). Loved it.
I can resist anything except temptation...
Now I've got the "Decimo", and it's like a slimline version of the original.
I got another broad nib.
The weird thing about this is the squeaking noise it makes as...

How long to flush pen? by
Charter
I have an old Sheaffer desk pen with a snorkel filling system. I had not
used it for a while so I decided to flush it out with water. After a series
of warm water flushes the water was less intensely blue but still quite
blue.
I let it soak over night in about an inch of water. The next day I...

Does anyone have an Osmiroid Shorthand nib they would sell? I have the
Sketch and Music, but I need a Shorthand nib to round out the
specialty nib collection. Thanks - CKA

Sheaffer Imperial Touchdown Filling Issue by
AndyH
I recently bought a Sheaffer Imperial (mk2) from eBay and when it
arrived I discovered that the barrel was cracked. When I try to fill
the pen (Mont Blanc black ink) it draws enough ink to write a page and
a half of A6.
I am using the prescribed methodolgy including leaving the nib
submerged in...

Pencil Art by
Norman Haase
A friend sent me some terrific photos of 'pencil sculptures' today that I
wanted to share. As these came through a friend to a friend to a friend,
etc., I don't know who the artist is. If anyone does, I'd appreciate them
leaving the information as a 'comment' at the end of the entry on my...

What Have I Bought by
AndyH
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180085958952
I "won" this on eBay. The description is sparse. At first I thought
that it was a Valiant, but the top looks wrong. Is it an old pen with
a new top?
I have to admit to not being a purist or particularly knowledgable.
To me, it...

Mont Blanc Refills by
Bristolian
Ive just acquired a Platinum Line Classique Fineliner (ink out
already!) and would like a proper rollerball (or possibly, fibre
refill) to do the business. Can anyone suggest a pilot or similar
refill that will fit? I just know you'll know...
Best wishes, David

45 vs. 51 by
yland45
although the 51 is definitely a unique pen, it pales almost to
insignificance in my eyes to a parker 45 with a 14K nib for extended
periods of writing, for which i use it. My grandmother gave it to me,
telling me that she used it as her metric pen. i have been using it
for years as well and i cant...

Replacing lever-fill bladder --- suitable for amateur? by
Adam Funk
I have a "Stephens Leverfill No. 270" that I think has a faulty
bladder.
The lever moves out, but not as far as it should, and doesn't suck any
ink back up when it goes back in.
Is my diagnosis probably right?
Is replacing the bladder something I ought to be able to do without
experience?

Waternan Hemisphere Problems by
AndyH
I was bought a Waterman Hemisphere for xmas. Normally I use Lamy
Safari, Cross or Parker fountain pens so I am well used to fountains
pens when they work and when they dont.
I decided to wait until the Waterman ink converter arrived from the
Parker Pen Co. I then filled it with Noodlers Purple. ...

Lamy nib sizes -- getting finer? by
Polecat
I recently bought a Lamy Vista with an EF nib. I remember the nib on
my old Safari -- it was huge, more like a medium. But this nib (silver
instead of black in color) is a real EF. Anyone else notice that?
I love the looks of this clear pen and bought it as a user that might
get some attention...

Detail work - good BP or FP alternative by
bob craig
Not a lot of enthusiasm for BPs here, this I know.
I've tried to be an FP purist, Pelikan, Waterman, etc., Roller balls
seem too imprecise for me. But I have a dilemma. I've been doing a lot
of detail, long form work.
First, FPs, like my M800 in Left Oblique Med, dry up if they're
sitting open...

Zoom style nib? by
BigBenBiker
Hi All,
I recently discovered this kind of nib, of which I had never heard
before.
Could anyone who has used one of these, tell me, please:
a) do they work as "advertised" - i.e., thiner line with pen nearly
upright, broader line with pen nearly horizontal?

noob question on ink flow after cleaning by
Billy Rhythm
Hello group. I'm an occaisonal poster over at R.M.M.P (the drummer's
group), but they couldn't help me!
:-)
I recenly got back into writing with a fountain pen. When in college,
I used to use a Parker, and really liked it. I lost it though, and
never really picked another one up. When I was...
