I suspect it may stand for Postal Station "S", but I'm not sure.

Good morning all.
I have a couple of stamps from Poland that seem to fit Scott 1951-52
descriptions, but differ in colour.
The first - 45 k , identified as 530 red. The one i\I have is brown.

I recently came across north confederation german stamp which is the
equivalent of the scott O4 (1 groschen) but is of the color of the O6 which
is black and gray. in short, I have a 1 gorschen that looks exactly like
the 1 kreuzer in terms of colors.

okay, I have a hard time seeing watermarks on my german old collection.
lozanges vs networks etc etc. I know there are liquids, trays etc, but
isn't there some quicker, less expesnive homemade method to do this? the
good old sunlight???
