Bruce McNall by
JSTONE9352
Does anyone remember that coin mutual fund he ran for Merrill Lynch? I
recall that some of the coins disappeared, and that Merrill made good
the losses.
Does anyone know how the coins disappeared? Did McNall swipe them?
I'm not sure. I believe it was set up
like a mutual fund and I...

A gold medal for John Brown? by
John Stone
In the movie "Mrs. Brown" Queen Victoria announced that she ordered a gold medal
struck to honor her personal assistant John Brown who saved her from an
assassination attempt. Does anyone know if a gold medal was ever struck or
was that just a bit of Hollywood historical liberty?

1928 double eagle by
Donzup
Hi.
Do you know the value of the 1928's double eagle $20 coin.
Medias deal a lot with the 1933 unique one nowadays, but I can't find
anything about the 1928's one.

FS: The last two 84-O Bag Toned Morgans; 1887 PCGS MS64 End Roll Toned Morgan by
Eric Tillery
Hi Everyone,
I have just three Morgans left for sale. It would be a big help to me to sell these in the next week
or so. I have reduced the prices on the two 84-O's, and can't do any better than my posted price.

FA: West Point Commemorative in Both Matte and Gloss Finishes by
WinWinscenario
As with the Buffalo Silver Dollar, the West Point 2002-W Commemorative is
available is both matte and high gloss finishes. We have seen less of the
matte finishes, about 4 to 1.
Does the US Mint know they made these coins with matte finishes? Or is this
another "collector" discovery?

To early bird or not early bird? by
John Stone
During the early bird time of a coin show are the dealers really interested in
you if you are not a fellow dealer? Since dealers like to deal among themselves
before a show officially opens how receptive are they to someone they don't know
coming around during setup asking what they have?

I thought I might make an announcement for WINS members who do not subscribe
to any of our current mail lists but who read this NG.
Sometime soon, a vote will be scheduled on the bylaws. Your club will
finally get around to determining just how it will govern itself.
At this time there is a...

Seems to me I saw a thread on this, but now I can't find it. Who's
going to Baltimore and when? I haven't decided which day(s) I'll be
there, but it would be great to meet with a few RCCers.

Look at this auction by
Dan769
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39466&item=3032657811
I found this over on the PCGS board. Very deceptive. Hides bidders ID so I
could not email them to warn them. Is there anything we could do to stop this
auction?
I hate when people blatently rip others off like this.

FA: Mint sets & Proof sets by
Bill Krummel
Listed tonight; mint sets - 1964, 1975, 1978, 1980, and 1985.
Proof sets- 1969, 1982, 1987.
Check out the cent in the 1987 Proof set. It is very srange, something
wrong with the plating of the cent and it has a rough textured surface;

Unique! by
Brad
This chap doesn't know what his coin is, but it's "unique":
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3033644529
I believe he had it up last week attributed to someone else,
claiming it was in catalogues as a $10,000 coin. If it was
Cornelia Supera (which he provides no evidence for),...
