Canadian Commemorative Quarter by
Chris Mitchell
Hi all...
I have a 1967 Confederation Centennial Canadian 25c. In the KM guide, it
lists two types of this coin, #68, containing 0.1500 oz. Ag and #68a
containing 0.0937 oz. Ag. Both are listed as weighing the same 5.8319g.
Nothing in the KM guide suggests how to tell the difference between the...

? about Mint Production Numbers by
Joe
Where can one find good mint production numbers? Their website only
posts the last few years of circulating coinage. Where can one find
how many comemmoratives, mint sets, proofs, etc were sold for any
given issue?
Most price guides have some numbers, but not for all the
commemmorative sets,...

A new marketing strategy for ebay by
Cliff
Not my auction but this new plea seems to be working well. I wrote
and asked how much for postage and she said $1.50 plus the required
insurance for whatever it goes for. I didn't bid but now I've been
priced out of the race.

Littleton Coin Prices by
WJW
I recently received a catalog from Littleton Coin Company. I did
comparisons of their prices with the 2005 Redbook and found not slight
differences, but mark ups of 50% to 75%. Is it just me being
pessimistic or are they that high. Also none of the coins were graded
independently, so you are not...

Commemorative frustration by
Bob Rudd
There are very few GOOD classic commems on the market for the
past six to nine months. If you talk to the top quintile
dealers, they will tell you the same thing. Granted, this is
one of the few slow coin markets, at the moment, however, it
has always had a reasonable amount of truly nice...

Happy holidays - RCC 2004 Year-end Thoughts by
ftecaw
Probably many are thinking it but not saying it so I'll say it.
I propose that no troll of the year award be issued this year.
Even if it's unprecedented not to award it. Because while there has
never been such an obvious winner, there has also never been such a
disgraceful, disgusting, and...

The Coin Dealer's Art by
Jorg Lueke
This is from a long time ago but the story repeats itself in various forms:
Mr. Henry Ahlborn, one of the oldest coin dealers in Boston, is about as
keen
a man for a bargain as one can find. He tells how one summer day, trade
being
unusually dull in store, he started on a pick up trip along the...

Upcoming coin auctions in Vermontville, Michigan by
JSTONE9352
http://www.stantons-auctions.com/
I haven't been to any of the Stanton's auctions in many years,
just haven't had the time to go but in the 1970s and 1980s I
went on a regular basis. They are your typical small town
atmosphere coin auctions with the "rapid fire" auction style
method. They move...

2004 swap update by
George D
So far I have received 2 of my swaps.
From Jorg Lueke I have a Tabaristan Hemi-Drachm from 722AD. This is my first ancient that
is identified. (I only have one other)
Here is what Jorg says about the coin.
Tabaristan was a mountainous province of the Sasanian Empire located just southeast of...

NY 2001-D state quarter die chip by
Neill Clift [MSFT]
I found a quarter in a roll that has the lower loop of the
last 8 in 1788 filled. I got a bunch of quarters from the
bank and a fair few of them were rolls of shiny NY
quarters presumably dumped into the rolling machine all
at once.
I found 2 more of these same errors and noticed they also
have a...
