1867 nickel w/double struck 7 by
Brad
Hi. I've been reading here a bit. lot of interesting information for a one
time collector who hasn't kept up with it for quite a while.
Friend of mine has an 1867 nickel and has been trying to find out more
about it. Looks like one 7 is struck too low and one too high. From the
edge and part of...

Another Jefferson Moment by
Alan Williams
I have kept my promise to stop posting long lists of all the nickels
I've adopted out of circulation, but this is just too neat and too
rarely encountered for me not to take note of it. ;-)
Among the other orphans I found today, I was presented with a 1948-S
Jefferson (original mintage...

help grading coin by
Rick
Hi all.
I'm trying to learn how this grading thing works. I'd appreciate any
opinions on this coin. I know it's hard to be real accurate with a
picture, I just wanted some ballpark opinions to work with.
These pictures are full scale (730K) if someone would like me to post a
smaller picture, let...

Lucky Find in Coins Rolls from the Bank by
WJW
Got lucky with my coin search last night. I got two 42 Jefferson
Nickels and a 1950 Roosevelt Dime. I love getting coins from the 40s as
I live in historic Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Very cool imagining my fellow
servicemen using the coins during the war and they are still being used
here today.

Wisconsin Quarter Story by
Sanford Manley
Reports (AP, MSNBC, Yahoo) of Wisconsin State
quarters with some sort of aberration in the corn stalks
fetching up to 600 dollars.
Any pointers to images, information?

FA: Barber quarter and Seated Half, both AU by
Randy Thompson
In my continuing effort to reallign my collection, I put two more raw
coins up on ebay.

1900-S Barber Quarter, AU50
1846 Seated Liberty Half, AU55
The seated half is very sharp, but looks like it was wiped long ago.

FA: Duece Money Shirts by
Larry Louks
Hi Friends,
I haven't listed anything on eBay for a while, so with the cheap
insertion rate special for today, why not?
There's precious little money to be made in this. It is simply a "fun
thing" for me. Thanks for looking!

Fresh fingerprints on coins by
Anita
Hi, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and have appreciated
getting new information on coins. This is a good group.
I recently purchased a couple of bank rolls of clad uncirculated
quarters. The quarters were apparently picked through by someone who
decided gloves weren't needed. The...
