2004 US Mint Silver Proof Set - Weak Date by Lee Miller
I received my 2004 US Mint Silver Proof Set recently and immediately noticed that the date on the Peace Medal Nickel was unreadable. Both of the last two digits are unreadable. Might this qualify as an error? Proof sets are not supposed to have such coins. Would this increase the value or did I...

Is this a SEGS slab or is some dealer slabbing in the back room? by BEVERLY HOM
Hi folks, I could not locate the thread I started, but got some nice feedback on slabbing and wanted to follow-up. This is the picture of the coin I bought, along with its "Certified Genuine" slab label. Off another site, I saw the logo for SEGS, which was better than anything I could find on the...

Australian coin by joecoin
I have a 1936 Australian coin. The reverse shows "One Florin - Two Shillings". So, does that mean "1 florin and 2 shillings", or "1 Florin or 2 shillings"? Also, don't the kangaroo and the emu get tired of holding up that shield? Maybe the guy on the other side could quit profiling and help them...

As many of you here already know, I collect french silver jetons. I recently came across one being sold at live auction by Heritage http://smallurl.com?i=18230 The estimate given for it is as $250 - $300. That would be the case if it was about EF or thereabouts. However, I had a look at the...

"Whizzed" Maybe dumb question? by Jackson
The one frequently used term I have been seeing regarding altered or otherwise cleaned coins is "whizzed". Is this an electrical or chemical process, or is it just slang for dipped or polished? Thanks in advance for a clarification! Jackson AKA: Jack Grant
