Toke Nørby
Yesterday I bought a folded sheet with two Nigerian 10 k stamps (man
harvesting bananas) on the front side with a wrong address in Denmark
and a printed message on the back - see below.
As I paid a lot of money for this letter (2 DKKr. = 35 UScents :-)
I would like to know if I have found a REAL...

Halifax, Nova Scotia/ 1921" stamp (NFLD Scott C3). It has 2 arrival
cancels (machine and hand) on the back; one is "Halifax / Feb 4 /

TL
This NFLD Scott C12 is an actual First Day Cover (DOX). What is the
value for FDC in other catalogs? My 2003 Scott catalog has $375 'on
cover'.

Burning Stamp Collections - Proper? by
Anonymous[_2_]
A friend who is a long time collector now getting ready
to pass on, has mentioned that sooner than give his good
collections for ridiculously low percentages of catalogue
to unscrupulous dealers, that he would sooner burn up
the albums.
He said that his sons have no interest in stamps, since
they...

(RCSD) Another stamp movie by
Blair (TC)
Today I saw another philatelic related movie.
The movie is The Lone Wolf Keeps a Date (1941)
starring Warren William (Michael Lanyard, the Lone
Wolf - a reformed jewel thief) and Frances Robinson
(Patricia Lawrence)
The story begins when Lanyard goes to Cuba to buy a
last stamp to complete his...

Flora and Fauna Series by
[email protected]
I have checked the Arago website, and the American Plate Number Single
Society website, and have seen conflicting information on what
constitutes the Flora and Fauna Series. From what I see in the Scott
catalog, the series began in 1987-88 with the 25 cent pheasant,
grosbeak, owl and honeyee...

A couple of weekends ago I was talking with a local Greek priest -- not a
stamp collector -- and the chat came around to Mikis Theodorakis; trust me
to always make sure it does!! He knows I am a stamp collector and he told
me that recently he had seen a stamp with a picture of Theodorakis on a...

different printers, colour changes, years of issue and usage, etc. I must
admit that at first glance they look...

Bank drafts acceptible in Denmark? by
Bobstamp
I am trying to conclude a purchase from a Danish seller, but he tells
me that a bank draft, drawn on a U.S. bank, is of no use to him. I
don't want to send cash, bank transfers are way too expensive for me,
and the seller can't accept a personal cheque. Can anyone offer
advice?
