I went to a coin shop to cash in some silver, and I was talking to
them about reissuing $500, and $1,000 bills as well as issuing a $200
bill, and they told me that, some places in Europe are trying to ban

Value of 3 PA County Issued Notes 1869(1839?) by
Marty McCormack
The note is listed in Pennsylvania Obsolete Notes and Scrip by Richard T.
Hoober.
It's Clearfield 68-5 for the $2 and 68-4 for the $1. Date in Hoober is July
29, 1859.
Both notes are listed as rarity R6 with 6 to 10 known.
Hoober is dated 1985 with 1983 prices for an R6 Banknote is $30 in Fine...

Will the U.S. ever phase out the $1 Bill? by

Has anyone heard any news on when or if the $1 bill may be replaced
by
the $1 coin?
The BEP has told me that the Treasury has stated several times that
"the $1 note and $1 coin will co-exist" yet Fred Shecter told me that
there should possibly be a $1 bill phase-out in plan, for possibly
2010.

Finally saw a $2 bill in a till by

Been spending them for years, only have ever gotten one back in change
and for the first time in a few years I saw one in a till at
Walgreen's. Just told the clerk I'm glad I finally witnessed one
someone else used.. No idea if they will go back to the bank, but
at least they stand some chance...
