Kennedy roll finds by
[email protected]
I obtained my semi-monthly roll of Kennedy halves today, and I had to
see if it had any silver.
Before I had left the parking lot, the roll was emptied into my hand,
and there was a considerably
toned 1967! According to coinflation.com, its silver is currently
worth $1.92.
Once I got home, I went...

Canadian penny discussion by

Lots of great info of the history of Great Britain's (and some of her
colonies') smallest coins. I threw in my own two cents, so to speak.

The fun of classified ads... by
[email protected]
I have been sending in the free 25-word classified ad forms for
Numismatic News for a while now, and have occasionally received some
written responses. However, this did not prepare me for the response
I received from my most recent ad:
Trade my 3 wheat rolls for your pre-JFK half. Send to: Name...

Yet another coin "ad" in the PARADE by
[email protected]
My Sunday PARADE was, once again, greedy enough to accept advertising
money from World Reserve Monetary Exchange, and allowed them to
attempt to swindle the American public out of their hard-earned money.
They all selling 12 "never-circulated" Presidential Dollars in a clear
tube, plus one free...

Interesting roll find by
[email protected]
I have been obtaining rolls of halves for many months now, trying to
complete my collection of Kennedy's, plus find some silver, and today
I picked up 6 rolls. All of them were 1998 Philadelphia mint, which I
thought was a bad thing at first, until I started opening them up to
find 14 of them with...

Steel cents on the way...? by
[email protected]
I first read about this in COINage magazine (February 2008 issue):
legislation has been introduced to change the 1-cent coin from copper-
plated zinc to a steel composition that is treated to "impart a copper
color to the appearance of the coins so that the appearance is similar
to cent coins...

Spending a Kennedy half... by
[email protected]
I was at my doctor's office, giving them my co-pay, and the
receptionist tells me there is $1.08 that I need to pay as well. I
give her an additional dollar bill and a Kennedy half (having recently
obtained a roll from the bank). She didn't have any change from the
office, but instead dug out 50...

Does anyone else do this? by
[email protected]
I am a long-time collector of circulating (and
should-be-circulating) U.S. coinage, and have
searched through my pocket change at the end
of the day, looking for coins I need for my collection.
What I determine I don't need goes into a Mason jar
(literally), and will eventually end up in a CoinStar...

Seeking 4 people for a 2007 Presidential dollar ring by
[email protected]
Hi:
It occurred to me that acquiring the $1 Presidential dollars may be
a good investment, if I could get them in uncirculated condition (duh).
However, that would cost a substantial amount of money (roughly $35.50
per roll plus shipping times 5 (the 4 presidents plus the standard...

Went up to the company cafeteria, and as I was checking out, lo and
behold, there were a bunch (5-10) 2007 Lincoln cents in the need-a-
penny tray!!! I took three (after all the Wheatbacks I have put in
there, this was only fair)... this is the earliest I can recall for
new cents to come out......

thoughts on a trade by
[email protected]
I am in negotiations to trade 3 U.S. Silver Proof Sets
(1992,1996,1997) for a year set of Franklin halves, graded "F/VF to
the '55 unc." All the halves are from the Philadelphia mint. I
wanted to hear some thoughts from the group.
Thanks,
Les

[email protected]
Hi all... I am working on a trade with someone, and I need the KM#s
for the following German coins:
1874 2 pfennig
1874 10 pfennig
I had found a 20th C Krause in a used book store, but never the 19th.
Thanks in advance,
