UN Stamps by Grandpa
Just got a copy of Linns yesterday and noticed the new UN stamp onthe front page. Funny that they can have a stamp completely done in 2 months, yet it takes the US what, 3 years minimum? The stamp is available in 3 denominations, Eng, Fr, Ger, as is the verbage. So on to my question: In which...

Post backlog in the US? by Mette
Has there been a post strike in the US lately? I am asking because it seems that mail US-Europe (or at least US-Denmark) is currently delayed 10-14 days in either direction. My mail sent 2-3 weeks ago has not yet reached the recipient(s), and I am still expecting mail from the US that was...

Paper preservation. by Rodney
Does anyone know if the texts below, are available on the web anywhere? I have parts 3 and 5 (not known if they are interchangeable with this list) from APF News 1995 and would be interested in obtaining the entire paper, if possible. I think it belongs to the RPS society of Canada. Campbell,...

Hi Rodney, Emails to you seem to bounce back, even when following your instructions for answering :-( I just wanted to say thank you for the latest scan, and that the rest can easily wait -- there is no hurry at all :-) Regards

Beware of fake maximum cards! by Bjorn Bakken
Warning to Maximaphily collectors! A large number of "old" and "rare" Bulgarian maximum cards have appeared on the market lately. Some of these sell at quite high prices. The sudden introduction of such a high number of items and the observation that they all have a rather similar appearance...

Bulk Mail Stamps by John O'Brien
My wife recently received the attached cover from a political organization. It is unusual in that it bears a service-inscribed bulk mail stamp WITH A CANCELLATION. I think the use of a mailers postmark on such a stamp would be permissible, though I've never seen one, but this one has no permit...

Is "Deutsche Bundespost" MINT Postage Valid For Use In Germany? by Peter D
I checked the Suetsche Post site but I can't find anything on the subject. Does anyone know if mint postage (mostly from 80s) is still valid? I thought I might send it to friends in Germnay for them to use unless I sell it to a collector. Also, is DDR postage valid (I suspect not)? THanks

Mr. Jack Witas-Trading. by Rodney
On the off chance you collect Australian. I am looking to trade for US, and have had similar poor response. The last trade for US, I received 100 or so from a want list, and with 80% with dark wavy cancels, (which went straight in the bin) (I've revisted my previous stance of never destroying a...

Mekeels Stamp Weekly. by Rodney
For instance, I keep hearing about Mekeels stamp weekly. I have yet to find out where to get it! I have heard it's still around, or is it? Apparently, some people know about it and others don't. Will that keep me away from collecting stamps as I know it now? No. Will it have an impact on...
