A helpful website by
SUZZ
Hello,
I decided to create a website that would serve the purpose to assist people
with info in one place to help them get started with selling on the online
auctions. As well, I hoped to direct people to click on my auctions as
well. I tried to come up with helpful hints, tips, links and more. ...

It's Not Just People on ebay by
Evelyn C. Leeper
I am amazed on the number of people whose listings show up on
bookfinder.com who think that "signed" means that the owner has written
his name on the inside of the front cover.

Arlo signs my book... by
Jonathan
Alice's Restaurant is long closed...but 40 years later, Arlo Guthrie
is still at it. I took my copy of "Alice's Restaurant Cookbook"
(Fine/Near Fine...with the audio recording still attached to the inside
of the back cover) to his concert last night in Milwaukee.
After the concert he made himself...

check this for ebooks! by
BobFinnan.com
Finally, why am I doing this?
Ummm, because you're a thief?
But shouldn't you be able to read it even if you can't buy the book?
That's why your town has a library, Mary. Check it out sometime!

help estimating value of a book by
[email protected]
I've recently acquired a copy of Peter Beard's book The End of the
Game. It is the 1965 first edition, with the dust jacket. Searching
through the internet has revealed that this is a fairly valuable book,
but unfortunately mine is a library copy. How much will that reduce
the value of the book...

How do you catalog your books? by
SD
Do you
- use software
- use an online service (which one?)
If any of the above, what features do you like? What features do you find
missing? How much do you pay for the software/service?

How to identify 'True Firsts"? by
Eden R
Hi,
In which way can you identify what is the 'true first' of a edition.
I collect Bookers and this is often an issue as the UK edition is often
trumped by an Australian/Canadian edition.
The question arose as I was thinking of this year's Pulitzer and the fact
that it is an Australian
with dual...

Another (worse) Rushdie forged signature on eBay by
Jon Meyers
Apparently a forged signature doesn't have to even remotely resemble the
genuine article to draw in the suckers:

All I can say about this one is that the initials are correct, and
there's apparently supposed to be a dotted letter in...

Lawrence Labree New York Illustrated by

I have a book that has me pretty much stumped. I can find absolutely
no info about it, other than it was a successor to The Rover. This
book is called The New York Illustrated Magazine of Literature and
Art, published in NY by Burgess and Stringer, 1847. Edited by Lawrence
Labree. It's an anthology...

Rare and not-so-rare together! by
Calvin
Hi RCBers,
I am facing the following situation:
Let's say there are 2 rare books, "A" and "B", $2,000 each. They were
bound together with a not-so-rare book "C" ("C" alone priced at $30!).
Title of book "A" is on the spine.
These 3 books are at about the same period (20 years apart).

opinion. The books are as follows:

Title: Horace and May; or...

Book of Mormon "collectors" (thieves) caught by
Kris Baker
I don't know if any of you had heard about the break-in at
a local museum, where 11 "firsts" of the Book of Mormon
were stolen. It's probably only newsworthy in Utah.
Here, it's the biggest thing since Mark Hofmann.
So far, one person arrested is someone I'm familiar with.
I don't know this...
