Merc Dime Doubled Date by Joe
I recently acquired a 1942 Mercury Dime, about MS 65/66 FSB. Under 10X magnification, I can clearly see a doubling of the date. Is anyone aware of this variety? Is it a well-known type? Worth any premium over the normal FSB? Thanks for any insight, Joe

Maryland man finds 1775 British halfpenny by The Silver Jar...
Fascinating stuff! :D Only one slight error from my quick read there surely it's 'BRITANNIA'? not 'BRITTANIA'? Pedantism as always ;-) Sylvester.

A FUN New Device! by Larry Louks
Howdy, friends! Santa brought me a nifty gadget to play with! (Well, I actually bought it myself, but I'm willing to give the ol' guy credit for it.) Just now hooked it up, and these are the first shots that I've taken with it. The coin is still in a 2x2 and no doubt I've got a lot to learn so as...

Buying Mint Bags by Neill Clift [MSFT]
I was thinking about buying a mint bag to look for errors. Looking at the www.usmint.gov I see they sell say a mint bag of 200 Kennedy Halves for $135. With shipping this comes out to $0.70/coin. Obviously I would be chucking a bunch of money away if I just deposited them at the bank when I...

Promissory Note Question by DM
I was wondering if one of you folks could assist me with some information, or at least point me in the right direction. I have an old bank note from 1874 from the Second National Bank in Sandusky, Ohio. The note is for $2 plus interest to bearer upon demand. I have researched the bank and, though...

Overdate Mercs? by James Higby
Ever since passing on a slabbed AU overdate Merc at a show a couple years ago, for about a third of what they list for today, I've watched eBay for offerings of the 1942/41. They seem to abound. Subtracting the reproductions (that LQQK real!) and the ones that the sellers just aren't sure about,...

Hey all- My grandmother passed away recently, and I have inherited most of her coins and stamps. I am trying to find a price for one set of franklin mint proofs. It was issued in 1971, and is a complete set of the Governors State medallions, and accompanying first day stamp covers. It is in the...
