Dec. 21 last year -- when many believed the Mayan calendar predicted the end
of the world -- but was delivered late by Russia's notoriously inefficient
postal service.

Cost to collect US new issues almost doubled in 2012 by
Victor Manta
The cost increased by more that $63, thanks to more high denominated and
definitive issues. The cost to buy all new US mint stamps and stationery is
$140.

"Mint no gum" equal or not with "MNH"?... by
gogu[_11_]
Good morning gentlemen!
A terminology question:
some times I encounter on eBay an S/S described as "mint no gum" and when I
ask if it's MNH or MH, I receive the following answer: "it's not hinged but
has no gum"!
This answer does not enlighten me a lot, since an S/S can be issued
originally...

Science fiction by
Padraigh ProAmerica
Here's a thought. AFAIK, the USPS has never issued any stamps honoring
science fiction as a genre. Since they like multiple honorees, here are
four that should be considered:
HUGO GERNSBACK: Editor of the first SF magazine in the 1920's, his
writings proved very prophetic.
JOHN W. CAMPBELL JR:...

The importance of Stamp Shops by

I have only just joined the group and I am one of the few new Stamp Shops to open in a High Street location in recent times. I have written a couple of magazine articles on this topic but would love to hear collectors views and experiences as to accessing material to view.
