Any other eBay sellers... by
....having trouble with non-paying and late-paying bidders right now? Until
now I've had little trouble. I filed two NPB reports yesterday and have two
more that are scheduled to be filed next week if needed. Three of the
transactions are mint sets that sold for a reasonable price (and...

Thank you BoxTurtle! by
Bruce Farley
As the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and those
very same good things come in small packages. In this case the small
package is in the form of a 1883 one dollar gold coin that BoxTurtle so
generously sent me in the holiday gift exchange. I have posted pictures
of it on...

Future of MS70 and PF70 Coins??? by
ronrpk
So what are some of your thoughts on the future of MS70 and PF70
coins? Is it a present day fad that will fade with time? Or will
collectors always seek the best possible grade, thereby keeping the
prices of these "perfections" high?
Personally, I'm not into these per se. For what I collect the...

RUSSIA: 1 rouble 1733 -- fake?? by
Bob Hairgrove
Appears to be Uzdenikov 0706. However, the portrait looks funny, and
she is missing some locks of hair on the right:

There is no safe way to clean coins... by
Mom of 2 Soldiers
People, PLEASE, don't even attempt to clean your coins with any kind of
cleaner. There are NO SAFE COIN CLEANERS anywhere on this planet. If you
are going to risk damaging and destroying your collection, then give it
up. Sell out to somebody who knows what they are doing. The value of a
coin drops...

Calf gold by
Tony Cooper
I'm trying to identify an item that was owned by a coin dealer. It's
marked "Genuine Calf Gold 1853 Catalog: $125 FS: $20" The catalog
price and the listed price would be have been current in about 1985.
The person that wrote this was a long-time ANA member and a dealer
with a shop, so it's...

Interesting error item in circulaton by
Michael G. Koerner
A couple of days ago, I got a 2005-P West Virginia quarter with an
approximately 1 by 4 mm major die break in its rim at about the four-o'clock
position on the 'date' side. Interesting find, IMHO. :-)
