Vote For A New Leader by [email protected]
The only way to resolve the problems in this newsgroup is for someone to set up a new forum (I suggest http://groups-beta.google.com/group/Book-Collecting or something similar) and then hold a vote to nominate a site owner. Each candidate could briefly spell out their proposed policies and...

Dustjacket Question by Courtney Love
Pursuant to my conflict with an ABE dealer over whether a certain book is some form of book club edition or not, I am looking into the subject of dustjackets. Without going into specifics just yet, here is what I can say. I own two volumes that seem to be the same book, but the dust jackets...

Help - yammy is cyber-stalking me! by Bob
Yammy keeps cyber-stalking me! He's obsessed with me and keeps track of every single post I make! I think he is in serious need of psychiatric help! Not to mention the fact that he's a hypocritical, sanctimonious windbag! -- Bob Finnan http://bobfinnan.com

Question about "The Little Prince" copyright page by otisburg
Hi, I've got two copies of "The Little Prince" - the first is a green hardback dated 1943, Third Printing (Reynal). The other is dated 1943 (Harcourt), no mention of "X printing", but halfway up the page it says "m. 2. 59". Does this mean it was published in 1959? I also have an Educational...

Toad Croakings: was "Lawrence Person - Abuse Background" by [email protected]
I just noticed that Lawrence Person has switched ISP. Far be it from me to suggest in any way, shape, or form that Hoppy is even remotely important, but for the edification of the non-trolling, non-spamming readership of these newsgroups, I switched ISPs because I bought a house and got...

Value of Eurographica edition ? by dr_demento
I have a book by Donald Westlake, namely "Horse Laugh and other stories", published by Eurographica in 1990. There are 350 such books all numbered and signed by Westlake. How much can it be worth ? A very similar book (in the same series) by Reginald Hill (Brother's Keeper) is on auction now on...

Warning: Old books disappearing! by [email protected]
Have you noticed how scarce old books are becoming? Of course, to consider the matter, you need a definition of "old books" in the context of my question. Let us, then, say books printed in the 1920's and earlier, since most such books have a sufficiently old look.
