How to sell my collection? by
Texas Yankee
I have a 30-year accumlation of various coins, mainly US proof sets,
commemoratives, roll coins, franklin halves, etc. - it's not worth the
trouble of storing it and I need the space more than I need the coins -
besides, it was a thing I did with my kids and they're grown and gone -
what's the best...

A fool and his money? by
note.boy
I have drawn attention to this seller a few times as they offer vastly
overgraded coins and sometimes ones that are claimed to be "extremely rare"
"matt proof" coins etc. and the picture often included a Spink coin envelope
confirming the description, I was not convinced that the writing on...

Am I right to assume that any coin is only worth face value if the date

Source for State Quarters? by
Nick Knight
I had a coworker ask me the other day how he can acquire some of the state
quarters he hasn't been able to find in circulation. He says he's managed
to find only 14 different so far. Seeing as I don't collect things this
new, I didn't have many answers for him. I mentioned eBay, and he...

How to tell 1916 SLQ without date? by
[email protected]
I can I positively identify several 1916 SLQ's without dates? I know
all are Var. 1 because there are no stars under the eagle on the
reverse. But verification of the 1916 positively still eludes me.
On at least 2 coins, I can see a faint '6' which is convincing to me,
but does not necessarily...

Need some coins for D&D props - any ideas? by
Jim Seymour
I'm toying with the idea of using some coins as props in a D&D campaign
I'll be running soon.
I'd want a large quantity (hundreds?) of coins or tokens that can pass
as gold and silver pieces - and, if possible, platinum and copper, as well.
Obviously, I'm not looking for anything with precious...

What came in the store today by
Wes Chormicle
Like most coin dealers, we have been absolutely swamped the last couple of
months buying and selling gold and silver. Today, this guy comes in while
bullion "mad house" is going on and asks if I could look at a couple of
coins and give him an idea what they're worth.
He pulls out 3 coins in small...

Bringing coins into the US by
George D
I am planning on attending this coin show
MANITOBA COIN CLUB TO HOST SPRING COIN SHOW AT
THE ROYAL CANADIAN MINT WINNIPEG ON MAY 13th AND 14th
My question is what is legal and what is illegal to bring back to the US and what, if any, duties will have to be paid
on coins bought there and returned...
