Does anyone know of an online discussion group about the French Colonies, preferably in English, alternatively in French? I've searched Yahoo, but didn't find any. Given that I have a fair collection, I'd really like to learn more about this fascinating collecting area, that is new to me. -- Best...

Canada - Circular Cancels? by amesh \(Mette\)
Some time ago Blair (TC) mentioned in a thread which I can no longer find, that the Canadian Grizzly, issued 1997 (Scott # 1700) would command a premium if sold used with a nice circular cancel. My question is, whether nice circular cancels were still common at "Grizzly-Times" in 1997 ? I am...

Ribbed Gum on cover?? by wolfb
This is a question for the German specialists out there. How can you tell which direction the gum is ribbed when a stamp is on cover? It is pretty easy if you have a mint stamp with gum, no problem there. The Michel Specialized lists German Reich stamps on cover and also lists the gum...

The forgers progress. by Rodney
I was surprised to read recently of the forgeries of the 1995 German definitives showing buildings. They got the perfs right, the colour, even the definition is passable. The only difference being a more yellowed paper, and the phospor! glow is greenish white rather than yellow.

Albums... by WhoCares
I am collecting souvenir sheets and mini-sheets mostly. I would like to put them in albums but most of the systems i've seen are pretty pricey. Are there any negative aspects for using magnetic-type photo albums for stamps? Thanks
