Personal note to Mette by
Bob Ingraham
Mette,
I tried last night and again this morning to send an e-mail to you, but both
were bounced back to me because the Remote SMTP server has rejected address,
which was the same as on your e-mail to me.

Blair (TC)
Photo-Gravure
This modern stamp printing process consists of

Pasha
Hi everyone,
This is my first message in this group.
I am a topical collector (Olympics, Soccer, Hockey, Chess). I have
recently re-discovered my old passion for stamps (I hadn't touched my
collection since 1994), and found a lot of stamp dealers online (Subway
Stamp Shop, Anystamps.com...

New die cuts on Ferber by
Stephen Esrati
Ashton Potter's 83c Edna Ferber changes die cuts with each new printing.
I have just received the one with the plate numbers P33 3 and this
time the die cuts on the stamps gauge out at 11.4 x 11.25 except in the
vertical selvage, where they are 11.4.

US Stars & Stripes by
Ralphael1
Another of my cheapie mini "topical" collections I call the US Stars &
Stripes. The name says it all; US flag in the form of Stars & Stripes.
I have found only 62 stamps up to the the April 2008 set of four, I
would have thought more. I am not counting all of the varieties of a
stamp, i.e. the Flag...

Great Britin Blocks of Four? by
Jim Conklin
Some of the stamps I've gotten from an approval serevice come as a block
of 4, say Scott 488-493 and 589-594. Is it a general rule to keep them
intact that way when mounting in my Scott album? Or can I break them apart?
Do they lose some of their value if I do? The reason why I ask is that...

Usage ??? by
Blair (TC)
In 1937, the USA Domestic Letter Rate was 3=A2 per oz
and the Domestic Postcard Rate was 1=A2, so there was
NO postage due. I have no idea as to why the double
postage. =20

North Viet Nam cover by
Bob Ingraham
I searched through several Russian airpost envelopes and found several
that are bilingual, with addresses in Roman characters and return
addresses in Cyrillic. One of them has both Roman and Cyrillic words
in the address: http://www.ingraham.ca/bob/ussrair2.jpg.
I also have an early (1924)...

Censorship "skips" (again — sorry!) by
Bobstamp
My first post on this topic got sidetracked when I realized that I had
made a boo-boo, writing "Dublin" instead of "Belfast." With your
indulgence I'd like to start again. Here is the question again, now
corrected:
I have a few international covers in my WWII collection, from various
countries,...
