Richard Wright signature by
[email protected]
Anyone know where I can find an image of an authenticated Richard Wright
(Native Son, Black Boy etc.) signature, or alternatively is there anyone
who has such a thing and would be willing to compare it to a digital image
sent by email?

"The World's Classics" query... by
Jbrodie1750
Are "The World's Classics" published by the Oxford University Press considered
collectible?
I have half a mind to start collecting them. Would I be alone ...or are there
other nutcases out there who have already thought of this?

Folio Society - ever a first edition ? by
Andy Dingley
One of my local booksellers (a rant will be posted soon) is fond of
labelling all of their stock as "first editions". In many cases, this
is because there was only ever _one_ edition of that tawdry piece of
unsaleable drivel, but never mind.
Similarly they're forever treating first UK editions of...

I'm new to this group but hoping that someone will be kind enough to point
me in the right direction on this question. I have a Book League of America

"Ex-Lib"category : Are their differences? by
MTSaler
I recently purchased a first edition of Bradbury's _The Martian Chronicles_.
It's an "ex-lib" copy, since the front free endpaper is stamped: "Editorial
library copy do not remove from office must be returned to library." But, since
it's a first edition, first binding state with vg dj, I was happy...

Winner for Most Inexplicable Bookdealer Shipping by
Lawrence Person
OK, this is something of a followup to the EBay ripoff thread. Let's see if
anyone can top this story for sheer, unbridled, PROACTIVE stupidity on the part
of a bookseller. (And mind you, not some random eBay feb; we're talking someone
who deals on ABE and Alibris.) Now, laziness I understand;...

Heinemann first editions in the early '50s by
Kevin
Can anyone tell me what if anything the English publisher Heinemann
did to books to indicate first edition first printings. Does "First
printed 1951" mean that this book is in fact a first edition first
printing?
Thanks for any help in this matter.

Difference between British and American Firsts? by
[email protected]
Greetings,
I am new here, hope you don't mind......
What is the difference between British and American First Editions?
If a book is published in the UK first, then, a month later comes out
in America, is the American version truly a "First?"
Just wondering.
