Unloading off-beat silver ingots by george pearl
Hiya, I own some silver one-ounce rounds that were issued by silver companies back in the 1970's. I don't even know if they are still in business. They are clearly marked .999 fine and look presentable. Am I going to have an easy time getting rid of them?

A bit ot - counterfeit bills by Bob-tx
From a Clark Howard newsletter May 27, 2010 -- Don't accept or carry anything larger than a $20 bill RIP-OFF ALERT: Clark has a rule: He never carries anything larger than a $20 bill. Why? Because bills larger than that have a much higher chance of being counterfeit. The Los Angeles Times...

Are dollar coins being used in normal commerce? I have not seen even one. My bank does not have any. The local post office has never seen one. I live near Charlottesville, VA. Does anyone know of a location where these coins are in common use? GFH

Goodbye Spaghetti Hair? WARNING: An OLY semi-rant. by oly
I was given my first "Hot Springs" Quarter yesterday at an Elongated Coin Meet on 5 June in Rockville, Indiana. The piece was a 2010-D and the collector who gave it to me obtained it at the distribution/ inaugural ceremony for the new coin which I seem to think was held in Little Rock some weeks...

2010 Lincoln Cents by Chuck Miller
On a recent trip to Rogers Ark. I found 2010 P Cents at one of the banks there. I bought $10.00 worth and they gave me one of the older boxes they store them in. Bringing them home on the Plane was more fun--my wife's carry on was lighter than mine so I stashed them way at the bottom and the...

PCGS files lawsuite against coin doctors ... by Ken Barr
PCGS filed a federal lawsuite against five alleged "coin doctors" claiming that they "engaged in a pattern of racketeering activity" (among other things) by submitting doctored coins to PCGS over the past several years. (They also admit that they slabbed many of these coins, then had to buy...

Frosting? by Bruce Remick
I just received my 2010 America the Beautiful quarter proof set from the Mint. IMO, they have gone *way* overboard in producing the frosted appearance to the point that little detail is left on the raised features after the apparent "sandblasting". The business strike quarters will surely...

RCC Tokens by nohope587
Its been 2354 days since my last post here. I do not see many of the old names, but I guess things change. Anyway I found a bunch of RCC tokens in my desk draw the other day. From 2002 through 2004 I can find very little info on the net about their popularity. Are these still collected by RCC...
