SAPOA joint issue by
Ralphael1
I missed the boat on this one I think. I was not going to collect this
issue because African stamps are nearly impossible to find in my
circle.
This issue consists of Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa,
Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Each an eight bird stamp souvenir
sheet. Being a...

I may be selling a fake by

I'm currently running an eBay listing for a CSA stamped envelope. See:

I received an email today stating:
"The cancel on this cover is most likely fake as it is not kown to
have been used in the Confederate period. The notation that is lined
out says "fake cancel." If you want...

Victor,
countries have other important things to achieve than report their

Scott 2008 info please? by
KenK
An auction lot I'm probably going to bid on describes
Scott catalog 2008 Vol 1 - 6 & Specialised.
Is that a complete set? I don't care about the Specialized - just that the
regular catalog set is complete.
If I don't get a response here I'll try the Scott (Amos?) site but I
suspect it doesn't...

from a newbie - do I have something worth investigating? by
A R Pickett
I recently discovered a large old fashioned storage box, filled with stamps
and covers accumulated by my aunt. Most of the postmarks are from the
1940's and 1950's. The volume of cancelled stamps is considerable, and
while there might be something of value in there, I'm confident the effort...

Stamp Collecting for Kids by
Don Levey
So about a thousand years ago, when I was a kid, I had a stamp
collection. The years went by and it fell by the wayside, but now I've
got a 10 year old son. He inherited a small collection from a friend,
and is thoroughly enthusiastic. I'm doing my best to keep up and to
remember stuff I used to...

USPS Becoming HiTech.......Kinda by

Another of those stories that make you ask how do they manage to stay in
business...the answer always comes back, they are the only post office

postal store here in town. I had been tracking it via email through the

1870-71 Alsace-Lorraine cover analysis by
Stan
Are there any reference works that would help establish a price for
the 1870-71 Alsace-Lorraine occupation cover? If so, what are they?

"Price" could be either catalogue value or sale price from a dealer to
a collector.
Cover is from occupied France (Muhlhausen) to...

Collection Focus by

I have known for quite awhile that to be good at collecting I must

I have also found that I cannot work several different collections at

If I put a collection aside for a few weeks it takes much time to
remember where I was and what I was doing.
I envy those that have their...
