Unidentified Parker Fountain Pen by
THOMAS ALEXANDER
I have a Parker fountain pen which has the hooded nib similar to the Parker
"21" , the "51" and the "45". The cap has the Parker name embossed and the
"made in usa" and the oval with the arrow through it, but no model number or
other indication. The pen is a cartridge fill pen so it is probably...

Noodler's Black vs. PR Velvet Black by
Viseguy
After a week of writing with nothing but Noodler's Black, I decided to
slap a bottle o' Private Reserve Velvet Black into the vise and run a
comparison. The ink delivery system (a/k/a pen) was a wet-writing
Omas Paragon.
Both inks are well-saturated and black-as-all-get-out, with no
discernible...

Dreaming...... by
IcTop
The Cross icon is a strange pen. It looks and operates strange (to me
at least). But it has some of the best gel color that I've ever seen.
It writes smooth, wet and the color shines. Now, if only I could use
that gel in my fountain pens...

Fountain pen at Target by
Sally G. Waters
I always check out the pens at TarZhay, and yesterday was surprised to see a
silver fountain pen (called the Heyday) in with the other 'nicer' pens there
(the boxed ones that usually sell for about $9 or so). Couldn't resist (and
I figured even if I didn't like it, I'd be subtly telling TarZhay to...

Ink in old cartridges by
R. Paul Martin
I've seen the advice here to not use old ink cartridges that are
partly dried out because the ink may be too thick and may clog the
pen.
However, what if I open the cartridge and just inject some water?
Should that reconstitute the ink to its original consistency and make
it okay to use?
I've...

Parker Quink Versus Pelikan Ink by
jono
I was advised to be carefull using my favourite Parker ink in Pelikan pens
as Paker ink is said to gum ink ways.
Any reccomendation for an ink that has the flow and glow of Parker blue.
I find Pelikan blue too watery.

inks down the sink by
mz
Since breaking my couple-of-decades old habit of only using Quink
black about three years ago, my ink shelf has grown to over 100
inks, not counting duplicates of favorites, discontinued, and
vintage inks. Today, some of those I consider to be of inferior
quality went down the sink.
These included...

Refilling rollerball gel pens with ink by
Erik Andersson
Hi!
Is there a way to cut costs by buying ink in bulk and refilling a Rollerball
gel pen when the ink runs out? The refill cartridges (e.g. LAMY M66) are so
expensive!
I tried by dissassembling my LAMY M66 cartridge and dipping the inside tube
straight into some ink, but it didn't seem to work....

Newbie Questions: Scratchiness and Dry Pen by
Tony Fischer
I just got a new Pelikan M800. This being my first fountain pen I
have a few questions:
1. I see a lot of talk about some pens being 'scratchy' but how do
you define that? This pen does not seem to write as smooth as my
roller ball, but it does not catch on the paper either. Should it
feel...
