Great Covers of the World by
Thomas Loepp
It seems the game is already afoot without any to
do.
Now that it is a growing possibility that mine is
bogus I will have to come up with a new one.
So who hosts the main link page?

Certainly, that was her income, after all :).
What amazes me, is how people find out about these closet collectors?
How did the NSW...

Ascension - BBC Relay Station by
Bob Watson
In 1966, the BBC opened a short wave radio relay station on Ascension
Island. This event was marked by the issue of a series of three stamps.
According to SG, the date of issue was 1st Dec. 1966, and the stamp (in
my catalogue) is clearly marked "BBC Relay Station 1966".
My Scott (1999) gives...

Honouring the 50th Star by
amesh \(Mette\)
In my collections I have literally zousands of covers, naturally some better
than others, and some of absolutely no importance. Here is a nice one of
less importance, but still meaningful to me:

It is a commercially used FDC, sent on 4th...

Alsace by
Alan
Afternoon all,
Some time ago a dealer in switzerland on ebay, was offering a item which
he believed was a proof for a stamp prepared in 1914 for the liberation
of Alsace in 1914.
Does anyone know if such a thing was ever prepared?
The dealer himself was uncertain of the item and was going off...

The Best Cover by
Thomas Loepp
I was looking at my covers and I was trying to
choose as an option the most visually arresting
covers, the wildest or most beautiful visually.
But it seemed difficult to separate historical
content from the impact of the visual sensation.
So I thought '...no rules.' I chose a few and put
them at...

North Viet Nam cover by
Bob Ingraham
I have an English-language North Vietnam catalogue published in 1995.
It does not list the stamps on Tom's cover. Similar stamps were issued
for Friendship Month I and Friendship Month II in 1954-55, but the
portraits (of Ho Chi Minh, Malenkov, and Mao Tse-tung) face forward. I
suspect that the...

I cannot find your stamps precisely.
However, they are denominated in grams
of rice (THOC), rather than in XU or DONG..
The only other VN stamps that I have
seen denominated in grams of rice are

Can someone tell me why some stamps are worth more cancelled than in mint

Example; Hamburg 21, $24 mint, $1500 used.

Also seen his latest movie : "Un long dimanche de fiancailles" aka...
