What would this cost, if verified, on the open market? How much is
'priceless x 2'?
Makes me want to go door-to-door, asking about books.....

Desert Valley by Jackson Gregory by
Alyson
I have this old book that I really don't want, but somebody told me to see
if it has any potential value, so I thought I would ask here. I tried a
Google search already and came up with squat. It's "Desert Valley" by
Jackson Gregory, copyright 1921 by Charles Scribner's Sons. But it also...

Tolkien Tree and Leaf - Signed First Edition? by
Tom L-M
I've been puzzling over this book for a few minutes now - its an Allen and
Unwin 1964 First Edition in dustwrapper - with what appears to be Tolkien's
signature to the title page - but, its so neat I presume it was printed this
way?
Can anyone confirm this for me?
Cheers,
Tom L-M

Leadership Styles by
Michelle
Hi
I'm looking for resources that contain information on practical
application of leadeship style concepts. In particular like that used
by Jack Welch while he was a CEO or Rudy Giuliani, NY mayor. I have
read their books and even found a review that compares/contrasts their
approaches to...

RIP Bernard Stone by
Alfred Armstrong
http://www.guardian.co.uk/obituaries/story/0,,1409332,00.html
I concur about the unnerving nature of the Freud waxwork. But that
aside, Stone's was one of the great places for anyone seeking
out-of-the-way books. He always had a stock of Gaberbocchus Press items,
for example.

Making Books Your Own by
Petronius
Lately I've been cleaning my 19th century first editions using a mixture of
sulphuric acid and Drano.
I lightly wipe the edges with this solution and they become white as snow!
And you should be how clean the leather bindings get! Truly astounding.
xoxoxo,
Petronius

Tilly (sp) the Turtle by
Quit_My_Job
Does anyone remember this/these books? I do not know the author or
actual title, but would have been around 1967 or so. It was the very
first book I learned to read and all I can remember is a cute little
turtle boarding a plane and waving. I would LOVE to get my hands on it
again. Thanks for...

Hello group,
I was hoping that some of you knowledgable people out there would be
able to help me.
I am looking for an English translation of the Vicomte de

Points for "East of Eden" by
bookeditions
Francis,
Thanks for the info. Took me forever to get back to read this group as
AOL dropped newsgroups and had to set up a google one.
Now I am not certain as to which edition I have. My copy has the
correct price on flap, and the word "bite" as described. However, the
back of the jacket has...

Brag by
Doug McClure
Today I found Haruki Murakami's "Pinball, 1973" at a FOL shop and paid
50 cents! The book was published in 1980 by Kodansha, translated and
published in English in 1985, and my copy is the ninth printing of
1994. My copy has been gently read and its only fault is some scuffing
and edgewear to the...
