In our stamp club in Syracuse, we are considering adding new categories of members. How would you handle this situation: an individual living out of state requests to be a member. They cannot meet the club requirements that they be present at a meeting to be voted in. Would you make them an...

Leaning Tower in Greece??? by amesh
Yesterday I came across this Greek stamp, that seems to show a Leaning Tower http://queries.heindorffhus.dk/greece-LeaningTower.jpg The face value being 300 Drachmos, I believed it to be a fairly recent issue, so I searched Michel through the 80s and 90s, but to no avail. Because of its...

Photo Stamps by Ralphael1
Another reason not to buy PhotoStamps: My neighbor wanted some so I ordered four sheets, two of him and two of his wife. PhotoStamps comformed the order then days later rejected his photos because they were "vintage" photos. (They were photos of him in uniform, circa 1945) PhotoStamps advised they...

PhotoStamps Collection Value by Tom or Mary
Would photostamps tend to be worth more canceled than mint since with a cancellation it would appear they were created to actually be used? Would there be a collecters's market for such stamps? I guess if they end up just being a passing fancy then that would increase the value. Tom

Stamp values--postage, not collectibility by [email protected]
I tried the USPS website and they were just no help at all, so I turn to stamp collectors for help! Now that rates have gone up to 39 cents, my wife delved into that little "odds & ends" envelope of stamps that have been hanging around for years, to make up the extra 2 cents per mailing. Problem...

Faked postal history in the movies.... by Bobstamp
My wife and I went to see Brokeback Mountain yesterday. Interesting film, and no, I have no wish to engage in a discussion about gay cowboys! What I want to talk about is terrible representation of American postal markings! The film is set in the period from 1963 into the 1980's, and the three or...

Which way to go by Don
Hi All; After having put your stamps in order, please help me with the following: Is it easier to buy ready made albums (if so which is the best). Or is it easier or better to get the binders with pockets and create your own album, so to speak.

US engraved stamps produced by Epikos by Dominique Stéphan
Hi, I've seen mention on the web of the usage of an Epikos system to produce engraved stamps. I'm interrested in all informations about this press. Are the plates/cylinder engraved by laser-engraving (I've found a patent about that from Epikos Tech).

russian error stamp by linxlvr
I know next to nothing about US stamps, and totally nothing about Worldwide issues. None the less, I find myself with a russian stamp w/ a denomination of 60(kon?) and a larger numeral 14 in the center of the stamp, which is 37mm tall and 27mm wide. Above the number 14 is the USSR flag, w/ the US...
