Collection software by
Don Levey
It occurred to me that I might want to consider some sort of software
solution to keeping track of my collection. I have seen a few packages
out there ranging from $20 to $300, but:
1) Being relatively new to this,
2) Being a Linux user, and
3) Being a glutton for punishment,
I thought I might...

G'day Mette,
FYI
I note there is a new issue "Joint Issue" Austria / Hong Kong
that features the swarovski "crystal fabric" in their "Fireworks" topical.
Makes the fireworks glitter apparently.

Hello Jan-Martin,
Here is a picture of what your cut square may have looked like on cover.
http://groups.msn.com/Stamps/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=610
It may have been on varied stationery.
This one is on a "Special Despatch" cover.

Ralphael1
The stamp dealer I use for new Joint Issues has just posted his latest
list.
The last item on the list is 100 Billion Zimbabwse bank notes for
$4.80 USD.
Now that is a bargain. Where else could you buy 100B Zim notes for
less than $5USD
I am gonna get mine and put it with my Confederate dollars....

SOAKING AND DRYING STAMPS by
John Law
I would like to open a discussion regarding the soaking and drying of
stamps.
Some people soak stamps and let them dry naturally,. others soak and use
professional stamp driers, some use drying books others dry stamps on
non stick panels, some even use micro-wave ovens.
Some collectors use...

My vote for worst design. by
Rod

After 3 years of looking at this issue, I still cannot
make out just what it is.
A dove with long range fuel tank?
This even beats Bob's vote of Canada's Marconi
issue with the green face.
Apologies for poor scan quality.

Democratic Republic of the Congo -- These can't be legal, can they? by
Bobstamp
I've tried without success to find out whether some stamps I bought,
just to get one showing Jane Fonda, are legal issues. I kinda doubt it.
They were supposedly issued by Democratic Republic of the Congo in
2002. There are two six-stamp mini-panes showing "Sex Bombs du XX cine
Siecle". According...

embossing by
Zdenek Jizba
Many 19th century stamps have an embossed center
usually showing a portrait of a king (or queen). The
process sometimes causes the edge to cut through
the paper. My question is: Is the cut through the
paper considered a damage to the stamp, and if so
how much of a discount would it warrant (say...

Canadian stamps expert help needed. by
Michael Bruhn
Hi
Are there any experts in Canadian stamps here?
I have two stamps from Canada, that I can't find in the Stanley Gibbons
catalouge. I have SG 249 and SG 252, but they only perforated on the sides and
at the top.
Does such stamps exist?
