Oxfam by
John Yamamoto-Wilson
I'll just say this clearly in a new thread (partly because of problems with
the "wrapping" of text when responding to Michael Adams's posting - perhaps
he would be kind enough to tweak whatever needs to be tweaked so this
doesn't happen again - partly because I buried my main conclusions at...

Can anyone name this book? by
E
I'm looking for a book read in the late 70's/early 80's. I believe it
was one of the little "Golden Books" - about one of the Sesame Street
characters. One of the stories in the book was about one of the
characters (I think Oscar the Grouch)going to the movies. The marquee
of the theater read...

Ethical Question by
fwdixon
A buyer has asked me to insure their shipment for 5 times what they are
paying.
Doesn't seem right to me somehow - like I would be participating in some
type of scam.
Any opinions?

Do you think there's any interest in these books? by

Charity/Thrift Shop pricing by
Giltedge04
Having sat back and watched the debate over Oxfam evolve I now just wanted to
add my twopennyworth for what its worth.
To the best of my knowledge in the UK no charity shop actually pays anyone to
value books it is all done by volunteers. There may be one or two exceptions to
this as Oxfam now...

French customs and rare books by
C T
I've bought many rare books from France in the last 10 years with no
problem until this week!
A dealer in Lyon, France, just informed me that French customs had
blocked the sending of my book order (a two-volume set of Chinese
dictionary printed in 1895-1896) because, according to the book
dealer,...

I've just finished reading Augustin Calmet's "The Phantom World" originally

Turkey. He quotes something called "The Dutch Gleaner" from...

Michael Shea's 'Fat Face' by

I really enjoyed Michael Shea's story, especially with it's
Lovecraftian mythos connections and my interest in that area. It seems
to have gone though a number of limited editions. The one I have is
denoted 'PC' and was Karl Edward Wagner's personal copy which I
acquired a few years ago. Can anyone...

Ah, I did find a signature by looking up "Ilya Prigogine" on Google Images. It
