76 Kennedy error coin by docfl
I found this Kennedy in a mint set in the discount bin at a local shop. I think this may be my first error coin I found. Looks like something fell on the die when the obverse was struck. Where it says indepndance hall has missing letters. Docfl http://sticefamily.net/images/kennedy%20error.jpg

Anyone into Currency? (FA) or...What Walked into MY shop last week... by LRC-Tom
My stories aren't nearly as spectacular as Wes's...haven't had any 93-S Morgans walk in yet, but now and then I'll have a story to tell. A lady called me and said her father, aged 96, had some coins he thought he might want to let go of, since nobody else in the family had any interest. So I...

It was love at first sight! by Amistad
Howdy, friends! I went to a local coin show yesterday and bought a few common items. I was about to leave, but then decided to make "one last round" before heading for the door. I'm sure glad that I did. I don't really collect foreign coins, though I have a few of them from here and there. ...

Using the private bidder on Ebay by [email protected]
How do people feel when a seller uses the private bidder feature on ebay to offer some privacy to their buyers? I did it for the first time this week on a SAE Silver Set. I know, I am not crazy about people seeing who I am when I bid something or what I am adding to my collection. maxthelab...

The SAE sets are in! by Jim Seymour
I ordered one of the Silver 3-coin sets on August 30th. It arrived in mid-October - right about when the mint promised it. On August 31st, I ordered five more sets - with a promised delivery date of December 8th. They arrived today! At least one will be going up on eBay soon. Hopefully, the...

US Mint order question by Wm Hopkins
I have 2 orders pending both of which say "Order Status: Your order request is in process" and "In stock and reserved." Are these orders OK or do I need to make a phone call? I don't remember seeing the "in process" part before. Thanks, Bill

1982 shinny cent what is it worth? by Barney
Is this worth anything? My boss found it and I told him it was simply a coin that was coated or painted over with a shinny brass/golden color. I thought I would take an image of it and share to see what others think. I have it posted at alt.binaries.pictures.numismatic under "1982 shinny...

Today in Change, a 1941 Lincoln by Bob and Dee
Along with the artery clogging food I got at McDonald's today, my change included a 1941 Lincoln Cent. Compare that to when I was a kid collecting pennies it would have been like finding a 1909 in pocket change. It won't fund my retirement, but if I keep eating at McDonald's, I won't live long...

With SF Proof Silvers Shipping by [email protected]
Maybe the Legacy Sets won't be far behind I wonder if the 20th anniversary sets sucked dealer investment $$ low enough that the distribution on these was more widespread if so, they might do what the Silver and Gold Sets have done anyone see any interest in the silver/gold set? Maxthelab

corrosion pits happening suddenly on uncirculated large silver coins by Gary
I have been finding that some of my uncirculated world crowns develop sudden corrosion pits and I don't know the cause or what to do to stop further damge. These pits are definitely into the coin surface, not just spots or toning on the surface. The coins are stored in non-PVC safe-T flips, once...
