Transporting a coin collection by
Peter L. Montgomery
I want to transport about 100 rolls of pennies on
a domestic US air flight. If I put them in my
checked baggage, I fear they will be stolen by the TSA.
If I put them in my carry-on baggage, I fear the TSA
will need to open each roll to check for hidden weapons.
How have others overcome this...

faint date on worn Lincoln cent by
Lee Carkenord
My wife recently got an old Lincoln wheat cent in change from the
store. Its pretty worn. The wheat stalks are smooth.
It definitely has a mint mark, and I am 80% certain it's a Denver mint
mark.
The first 3 digits of the date are nicely visible.....191?.......
I can't discern the last digit. ...

Ping Phil D - Ebay where to report the fakes? by
Scottishmoney
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3393&item=3920304995&rd=1
He has been selling Siberian, and Russian fakes for years. He is a danger
to collecting because while people know more or less how to spot American
fakes, ie the trade dollars etc, these sell to the relative...

2004 Proof Sets by
Geoff Aldrich
Greetings,
I have received my 2004 11-coin proof set and I noticed something odd.
There was no COA in the box? Has anyone else come across this?

Other reflections on Baltimore by
Reid Goldsborough
I saw a 1795 dollar that had had its date altered to 1794. The coin
was for sale as an altered coin, for $800. Thanks but no thanks. If a
legitimate 1794, it would have been priced at something like $20,000.
Even as an altered coin (counterfeit), it's still collectable in the
minds of those who ......

Gallery Mint cent auction by
A.Gent
Well, that auction has finished now too.
"The seller ended this listing early to sell to the high bidder(s) at current bid
price."
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3920506810
I *sure* hope (as I suspect) that the last two bids are bogus.
It seems that notifying eBay doesn't help...

Warning: NGC MS 64 LOL by
Tom
Hello folks :o).
I have just received my Denmark gold 20 Krone 1914 won on auction, graded by
NGC as an MS 64.
I have graded, purchase and sold a lot of this type of coins, and I can
guarantee you that this coin will never be an MS 64. Personally I would
grade it AU 58.
I guess NGC have no idea how...

Considering selling my collection by
MarkR
OK, I need some advice on this. I collect silver bullion art bars,
rounds/coins, etc. Would it be better to sell them all off individually or
in lots, sets, etc.? I have approximately 117 ounces of silver and some
sets of niobium coins and a few single titanium and niobium coins. I also
have...

of the coins in the rolls were the westward

Weird / freaky die clash on my Roosevelt dime by
frank wight
I'm riffling thru a roll of 2000-d
dimes when I take a close look at
FDR's mug.
I can see in the Fields that there is a
die clash. I can see an acorn from the reverse.
Trouble is, I thought that clashes only showed up
on the Devices. Is this type of strike more common than
realised? Huh?
