Thanks to MSNS by
Michael E. Marotta
This will appear on RCC before my letters arrive.
The Michigan State Numismatic Society granted me their ROETHKE AWARD
for the best article of the year. "Copper Owls" was about the
emergency coinage of Athens c. 404 BC. I never take awards lightly.
I always find them humbling. This is no less...

And the winner is by
George D
I printed out the names and had my wife draw a winner. This was actually a drawing I was
just wondering what people would write about when they entered.

First circulation coin find for a YN by
Scottishmoney
My daughter made her first coin find from circulation on Saturday while we
were shopping for her brother's Christmas present. It was a 1958 Philly
mint cent, probably in VF condition. Not valuable like a 14-D but then it
is a first for her so she is very very excited.

The Baltimore Show--Ira's take by
Ira Stein
Best Baltimore show I ever attended. Wanted to buy just a modest inventory to
tide me over until the FUN show in early Jan, but spent almost double my
intended goal. The bad weather kept lots of the collecting public away, so
dealers were able to work close to make things happen.
I SOLD the...

NCS and grade protection by
Jim and Lynn Lasher
I've read on the NCS site that they offer grade protection on submittals, at
their discretion. If this protection were afforded a particular NGC slabbed
submission, I assume that this implies that they guarantee that NGC will
regrade it at current level... My question though that I didn't see in...

I never tried one of these before. A LOT of work to put together, but also
loads of fun. I'm curious to see how it does:

FA: US Large Cents, 1841, 42, 45, 46, 48, 49, 50, 52 by
MorganCoin1
All are better than good. The scans, umm, are lame... The guy running the
scanner (me) ought to stick to ANA politics where he can't hurt anyone. ;)
The starting prices on these large cents are all $9.99, and they all have
reasonable BINs. Liberal return privilege, of course.
Large cents are...

Correction Another Hybrid Brick of Twos (was) 2004 Nickel by
Fred Shecter
OOPS. Not enough sleep. Not a RADAR Brick. Yes, it's a Hybrid 2003 Brick with a bundle of
sequential 1995 Star notes. (More exciting than a RADAR note anyway...)

False Claims In eBay Auction by
Ken Potter
Now stretching the truth irks me (to a greater or lesser degree depending on
how far it is stretched, i.e., I "do" recognize that a seller has to put some
"sizzle in the streak"), but outright falsehoods that result in a collector
paying thousands of dollars fow what is most probably nothing really...
