More Moribund Mint Madness! by
Larry Louks
I just now looked and I see that the status of the halves that I ordered
from the Mint on October 2 has now been moved up to the projected ship date
of 12/22/03. So much for my hoping to get these items to give as Christmas
gifts. What the heck is going on within those hallowed halls?

PO find - SBA by
Richard L. Hall
I went to the Post Office tonight to mail a letter and check my box. The
lobby is always open so I used the vending machine to get some GD's and
SBA's. As I usually do, I put $20.25 in and chose the option for 5-23c
stamps for $1.15. So I got 19 dollar coins and a dime. there were 17 GD's

What happens to Quarters by

From this DATA I didn't try and draw any conclusions at all I just thought it was an
interesting exercise to do. I was suprised that 1995 was the year with the most coins with

Franklin/Washington errors by
Jesse
Was sorting through a batch of Franklin halves tonight and I noticed
something unusual about one of them.
Seems the 'R' in 'Trust' joins his bust.
I know, its not like hes got 'Liberty' stamped on his forehead, but do you
think this slight error might be an added premium ?
The Washington - Was...

A new grading system ? by
RW Julian
The following ebay item
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2211444863&category=3393
has some interesting features. First of all, the photos (of a
high-quality coin)
are not of the coin being sold, which is described as being "fairly worn."
However, the seller has his/her own...
