2006 Austrian Niobium / Silver Bi-Metallic - RSM soon to sell out by
Harv
I decided to grab one of these cool coins, before dealers ran out of them.
So I ordered one from the RSM in Utah. They limit them to one per person.
Period. They had 10 left in stock and probably won't get any more. Now they
have 9 in stock. About $65.00 all-in shipped. Face value is 25 Euros...

How are you collecting the new coins from the US Mint by
jimc
Up to 2004 I would collect them in unc & proof. Now with this
sandblasted finish in the unc sets are you collectiing them as well in
your albums? Are you getting your regular unc. coins from new rolls or
from a dealer? Just wondering what everyone is doing?

1921-D walker found in "junk silver" by
Dave Hinz
Here's scans of the little beastie I was surprised by last week. Not
sure specifically when I bought it, I had a cup filling with Walker
halves waiting to be checked against my books, and/or rolled.

I'm inclined to keep it, it's the rarest coin I have by...

Is the US "cheap" when it comes to minting coins? by
The Space Boss
Are other countries using "copper plated zinc" for pennies as well or
is it just the US? I must say I've never really agreed with this. I saw
several pennies today with the zinc showing through... Are Canada
pennies still copper?

Gold proof coins not available at US Mint web site by
Merlin Dorfman
Just had pointed out to me that none of the 2006 gold proof
coins (one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce, tenth ounce, or the
four coin set) are still for sale on the US mint web site. All
are marked "product is not available."
Did they sell out, or is the melt price too close to the
sale price?

1974 Kennedy by
Greg Shilts
I have a mint set with the 74 Kennedy half that is doubled and was wondering
if it would be more valuable to get it graded or leave it in the mint
packaging?
Thanks

penny error? (usa) by
[email protected]
I stumbled across this unusual penny. The rim of the edges are silver
and there are spots here and there on the face where there is
silvering. Is this an error of any kind? It seems very clean and even
to have been simply scratched away. I did some research online but
nothing encountered seemed to...

golden 1999 US quarter??? by
Frank Noge
I got a gold 1999 quarter in change today, with George Washington on one
side and the Connecticut "Charter Oak" design on the other. I did a quick
google search and couldn't find any articles about the mint producing golden
quarters. I *did* find a bunch of places to buy 24-karat gold...

Why do you collect coins? by
The Space Boss
I suppose the vast majority of people here are "wheeler dealers" who
make a living at trading/exchanging or selling coins either from a shop
or internet. I'm sure that in and of itself is reason enough though I'm
sure these people have a love for the hobby.
But what about those of you who collect...
