1982 Pennies by
David Foster
Could anyone please explain how to distinguish the the various 1982
pennies? I am using the H.E. Harris collection folder, which explains
that the composition changed from 95% copper & 5% zinc to 97.5% zinc &
2.5% & copper. Then there are 7 slots, 4 for the Philadelphia mint and
3 for the Denver...

CONTORS POLLET? by
Curtis Hoffmann
Here's another one. I've got a 1/4 Skilling from Sweden with the
phrase "CONTORS POLLET". No idea what it translates to.
If you know, thanks.

Dave Harper says we complain too much about the ANA by
JSTONE9352
In his latest NN editorial. He didn't mention this newsgroup specifically but
judge for yourself: "One of the popular online sports is the bashing of the
American Numismatic Association. For the denizens of the Web, it is endlessly
fun and entertaining and woe unto those poor ANA members who wade...

Does too much hype on eBay ever result in a bargain? by

Is it possible that this seller's hype and negative feedbacks may scare

Buy WHICH book before I buy the coin? by
Gartogg
I am interested in Coins minted in Judea, esp. Bar Kochba Revolt (It'd
be really cool to get a set of prutot from all 4 years) But I don't
know A) What fair prices would be and B) What sources I could find on
the subject.
I would be interested to know if there are any books about either Bar
Kochba...

Another Baltimore report--long by
Mark Behrens
Well, about a month ago I asked the question, is the ANA Baltimore
convention
appropriate for me to take my six year old son, Michael? I can answer that
with a resounding yes! We both had a blast.
We got there about 9:15 AM Friday. We had 45 minutes to kill before we
could enter the bourse. So...

Scans of the ANA medal w/logo and commems by
Chrysta Wilson
I just scanned the medal with the new logo and my 2 commem purchases. The
scans aren't really all that great, but hopefully I can do better with my
camera when I get my computer back. (The photo software is on it.)

1961 Jefferson nickel- something you might check by
Bill Krummel
Pull out those 1961 uncirculated mint sets and any unc rolls of 1961 Jeffs,
Philadelphia mint, and look for the special one. Look for full steps. PCGS
price guide shows a 1961 FS in MS63 at.....$1,500. Unlikely that you
would get that much ( I don't know the Jeff market at all), but with...

old coins by
Kalevi
Hi everybody!
I've been left some old coins for a while ago (300-400 pcs) and I
thought - because I'm not a collector - to give them away/to sell them
for a reasonable price.
The oldest coins are from the 1890's (3 pcs), some are from the 1920's
and most of them are from the 1920-60's.
The coins...

Wright Bros. Commemorative S$ by
Keith Fletcher
What are people's thoughts on this coin? Dollar mintage is limited to
500,000. I like the design. Will it sell out quickly?
I also see that the mint has already sold out of proof $50 Gold Eagles. Are
people so hungry for fresh stuff that they are snapping mint products up
now?
