Wheat mysteries by
Alan Williams
As part of my celebration of the new nickel design (here, have some
cake!), I searched $75 in coin yesterday and Friday.
In 1500 Cents, I found two wheat cents, a 1940 and a 1953.
That equaled the two wheat cents I was handed in change on Thursday,
which included a 1951-S. Then, this morning, I...

Chrysta will not believe me by
Alan Williams
But today I got two Lincoln Wheat cents in change, a 1942 (657,828,600)
and a 1951-S (136,010,000)!
Yours is undoubtedly still out there...unless you'd like a small
pre-natal gifting...

Discounts by
Dave Welsh
This brings up a subject that has become a bit of a sore point with me.
When I opened my online ancient coin business, Classical Coins, last
December every coin was priced at what my research (based on actual auction
results) confirmed that it should actually sell for. In other words,
collectors...

Is this a genuine Denarius? by

This coin looks odd to me. I am a novice with ancients so would appreciate

It's sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along... by
Bob Flaminio
Remember that old 70s song? "It's sad to belong to someone else when the
right one comes along." The numismatic analogy to that would be when
you've already spent your coin budget for the month (week, year,
whatever), and then a coin that you've *really* been pining for shows up
for auction. In a...

Bust half Opinion by
Bruce Remick
I have had this 1833 bust half in my collection for about 30 years and
judged it to be an EF40/45, except for scattered bumps around the rim edges
and weakness in the lettering around the edges. Can you tell from the scans
(see a.b.p.n) if the rough rims look serious enough to kick it down a...
