Topps American Treasures by
Scott Henrichs
I know this group has been dying lately, but I'm surprised no one's
mentioned these. Talk about high priced insert sets, this is by far the
pricest ever. All 1 of 1 auto's of the presidents. So far, only two
have been on eBay, Jefferson (who is probably going to be the 3rd
priciest) and...

What's with Prince Fielder? by
BlackJet76
Last year at this time his 2002 UD PP Auto was a $25 card. By seasn's end it
was a $100 card. I know he's a great prospect and all but why the sudden
increase in price? The guy is still in A ball and at the very best will just be
a great Brewer. Also now the card is $130 plus on Ebay. How could his...

llar
Hi, new to all of this, but I have a lot of cards that the wife and I
have just bought and stored over the years. My question is what are the
different grades of card conditions ie: mint, near mint, and so on.
Any help?
Lou
PS...where would a good place to get them graded be?

Jersey cards with pinstripes by
Mike
Why is it that people selling and trading baseball jersey cards,Always think
they need to charge extra or demand a premium for a jersey card that
contains a pin-stripe?It's part of the damn uniform. Now I can see patch
cards bringing premiums. It's not like pin-stripes are in short demand. Some
joker...

Bonds a sure thing? by
BlackJet76
As of this writing Bonds PSA 10 TT card is $210 on the pit. He's only about
three homers away from passing Willie Mays! When that happens is it safe to
assume that the card will be worth at least $450? I mean it was around $300 or
more when he broke McGwire's record, and the all time Home Run...

Hobby in Trouble, Part XXXVII by
Dave C.
From the looks of this ng, is the hobby suffering an agonizing death? Anyone
care to offer suggestions?
As I've predicted before, card collecting cannot survive the fact that cards
become less and less identifiable with each new set and insert subset. The
massive offering of cards is drowning in...

Question about Ebay selling tactic by
wunnuy
I was just wondering, could someone tell me why people put "WOW" in
their heading? Are they so impressed with their two dollar card that
they have to share their excitement or is that some sort of selling
tactic? Does the word "Wow" actually attract customers or have some
sort of hypnotising effect...

Trading getting out of hand. by
Mike
Trading is really getting rediculous these days.Everyone thinks they have
GOLD and their cards are always better than yours. So therefore they think
they deserve the better end of the deal.As if you owe them something. Not
everyone does this but it sure seems it's moving in that
direction.Especially...

Lou Piniella, perennial rookie by
Ron B.
I'm not sure who holds the record for having the most Topps rookie
cards in the 1960s. But then outfielder Lou Piniella must be a
contender. He had rookie cards in 1964, 1968, and...

Why Is This Group Not Being Used?? by
John Wade
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Pink Floyd would say...."Is there anybody
out there?"
As a member of various newsgroups since
1996, I know, first hand, how hard it is to
create a new "rec" group, so it seems a
shame to have a "rec" group which is...

Too many vintage to have graded! by
Reggie
I have complete sets along with thousands of duplicates of baseball,
football and basketball from years 1958 thru 1962 that I bought as a
kid. I was an avid set building collector. Over the years I took
care of them and stored them. In the late 80's with the card boom I
took them from storage...

Question on selling my collection by
mangoman39
Hello everyone! I thank you all in advance for any insight you could
give me. I was a heavy sports card collector from about 1987 for about
10 years. I'd say I have about 200,000 cards of mostly baseball,
football, and basketball. Probably about 3/4 of them are commons,
which leaves me with...
