Arizona Coin Collector
Hello
For those who may use a laptop, there are a lot of
FREE "WI-FI" SHOT SPOTS to connect to the Internet.
I have a dial-up account with Earthlink. I also
use FREE WI-FI hot spots as well.
Check out the two links shown below if you use a

Walter Breen - my view [long] by
Mr. Jaggers
Walter Breen is arguably the most controversial personality in the history
of numismatics. One’s first impression of him would necessarily include his
unconventional physical appearance and attire, which, among other things,
featured a heavy, scruffy beard, sandals, and fly-away hair. His...

1804 half cent by
Peter[_6_]
I was looking at an 1804 half cent in a local shop, earlier. I looked
at some examples on eBay and saw this one (it claims to be BU). It is
item #290306316738 on eBay. After looking at the (merely Fine)
example in the shop, the reverse on this one looks odd especially in
the vicinity of the...

Ping Mr. Jaggers by
celtex
Sometime back I mentioned a "double struck" penny a friend of mine found. I
saw it last night. It is a 1972 with two Lincoln Memorials on the reverse.
The second "over strike" looks to be at about a 45 degree angle off angle
and a little off center as well, from my uneducated eye. From that...

A sheaf of wheat by
Mr. Jaggers
In its current number, Coin World reports that a proposed design for the
reverse of the 2010 Lincoln cent, a sheaf of wheat, a design supported by
the Commission of Fine Arts, has now been withdrawn by the Mint, as critics
say it too closely resembles the sheaf of wheat design that adorned some...

Got Braille Proofs Today by
PC[_7_]
The US Mint has finally got around to shipping these. The uncirculated
versions are still on back order, though.
After examining the coin in hand I find I really like to portrait on the
obverse especially the way it stands against the shiny mirror-like
background. The reverse feels a bit...
