(RCSD) Saar cataloguing help needed by Stan Fairchild[_3_]
Recently found two different pairs of stamps with printing flaws that might be described in Michel Saar-Spezial-Katalog 2002. I’m looking for help in deciding which of each pair is really the flaw. (There even is the possibility that neither one is the flaw Michel is describing.) The two pairs...

Recently, the New Zealand $2 Peter Snell stamp (2004) was discovered with an "inverted centre". http://www.nzstamps.com/Newsletter/NL-Pics/NL-Peter-Snell.jpg I understand that a sheet of 16 stamps has been discovered, by a collector, and is to be put on the market. Does anyone here have any idea...

(RCSD) USPS is strange by Ralphael1
I received my bank statemnent yesterday bearing meter postage in the amount of 00.437. Now being the US postage for a first class letter is 00.41 I was curious why the bank paid motr yhan the fist class rate. (RCSD) Machin question by Ralphael1
Looking in my Machin menagrie I noticed the mint stamps with back print are fading, Is this to be expected? I know the back print was applied on top of the gum and did not realize fading would be a factor. The "D" is much worse than the stars. Ralphael, the OLD one.

IDLE THOUGHTS OF AN IDLE FELLOW I recently spent the night with an old friend whom I hadn't seen for many years, but who is not, I hasten to add, a member of our Society. I'd heard vaguely that he had had some matrimonial difficulties and gone to live in a remote part of the country. When...

Soaking Stamps. by rodney
IIRC I read recently, when Tracy was discussing soaking stamps, Ralphael's retort was never to use tongs when soaking. I am looking at the cover of SG Scandinavian Catalogue and on the cover it shows a 4kr stockholmia86 issue with a lad soaking a stamp with tongs. Isn't this exactly, how not to...

Well, not this time, rather Motion pictures in stamps. This issue concerning the mutiny of the Bounty, came about after an essay for Pitcairn's Island, showed the stern of the Vessel Bounty. King George 6 vetoed the design and insisted on a side view. The resultant stamp shows a side view of...
