Newbie question about handwriting by
mattw
I am sure you get newbie questions alot (most forums do) so I thank
anyone who reads/responds to this.
I have a fountain pen that my wife picked up for me (it is a hand
turned wooden case with somewhat generic nib, I believe) and I love it
for how it writes and for sentimental value. For everyday...

your opinion on D'Nealian writing?? by
Sally G. Waters
Last week, a co-worker showed me a practice sheet for handwriting that her
kindergarten student was given; she said that he's become so frustrated with
trying to make the letters that he really, really hates writing. I've been
trying to identify what kind of writing this is, and it appears to...

Penspotting: Queen Elizabeth by
Tim McNamara
I watched a PBS show about the Queen and her family- really a rather
interesting slice of 20th century British history, BTW- and there was
a scene of the Queen reading and signing papers at her desk. This
looked pretty recent, I would say, from her appearance.
The pen she used was obviously a...

Writing Equipment Society by
mz
Lest you all think I do nothing but complain, I'd like to
extol the virtues of the Writing Equipment Society (WES),
which is in the United Kingdom.
Earlier this year I got a hold of several back issues of
"The Journal of the Writing Equipment Society." The quality
of the articles, in my not so...

Little Pilot Birdies F/S by
Speebob
This is a nice little pen. This is the little Pilot Birdie fountain pen.
The Birdie was ever sold in the US. It's only 4-5/8" long and a thin 9mm in
diameter (but not as small as the Pilot Penko). It's all metal brushed
stainless steel with polished stainless steel trim and a snap on cap. ...

Source for Parker 75 nibs? by
Psyktek
I recently replaced a much-loved Parker 75 that I'd lost many, many years
ago. However, the nib that came with it is a 'Broad' (marked 'B' on the
feed).
I've done a search and can only seem to find replacements that are
calligraphic or that are unclear as to the place of manufacture.
As a...

Hi everybody,
I am interesting in buying a few Mont Blanc pens online. I live in the

Paper... by
Lowell
I'm a newbie (woe be to the newbie, I know)... and I have a question. I'm
sure it's one you've answered a hundred times before, but I really would
like to get your opinions.
I use a fountain pen (I am, quite honestly, in love with fountain pens) and
am looking for some nice paper to write on. I...

DIY Repair of my Mont Blanc Ink Feed problem??? by
Blarney
Hi it's me again... I was wondering if I purchased either da book or the
Pen Den's DVD on fountain pen repairs if I could possibly adjust the ink
flow on my Mont Blanc Meisterstruck fountain pen? I am a do-it-yourself
type of person and would like to learn if I can. However I don't want to
risk...

Any hope? by
Shuttermutt
Greetings all! I'm hoping for some good news here. It seems my Parker
51 fell into the hands of my wife... twice. The first time she jammed
the cap on and, while attempting to remove it, apparently twisted the
nib in the shell. The second time, while we were moving, she had
actually THROWN IT AWAY...

I did it, Ms. Satrap! by
KCat
I put Orange Crush in my Rotring 1.9 mm artpen. Just 'cause I didn't have
anything else to put it in. I might have to find a Core just to have a pen
that suits it. And try to track down more of the ink. I was shocked. I
*liked* it.

Parker 100 vs Parker 51 & Sheaffer Snorkel by
ChunLi
Hi all!
I have some birthday money and I was wondering what you all suggest I
should get. Either a Parker 100 or a Parker 51 and Sheaffer Snorkel?
I think a fully restored Parker 51 and Sheaffer Snorkel combined will
be almost the same as a Parker 100.
I am very new to fountain pens. I only own...

Ink in old cartridges by
R. Paul Martin
I've seen the advice here to not use old ink cartridges that are
partly dried out because the ink may be too thick and may clog the
pen.
However, what if I open the cartridge and just inject some water?
Should that reconstitute the ink to its original consistency and make
it okay to use?
I've...
