Advice for a newbee by
Mebsuta
Hello all,
Simply, what would be a good fountain pen for a beginner? I have no
experience at all with these, but I must have one. I'm leaning toward
Pelikan because of the great reviews I've read, and their esthetics.
Love that blue and silver 805!
I started researching pens for my wedding guest...

The Mystique of Parker Penman Sapphire by
Tony Belding
I bought a bottle of Parker Penman Sapphire (PPS) back in the days when
it was still in regular production. That bottle is long gone now, but
I remember loving the stuff. I thought it was beautiful, it was
striking. It seems now that it's been discontinued for a while, PPS
has become...

Buying an ink cartridge in Cork by

When looking for ink cartridges in Cork i found few choices other than the retail outlets who actually sell expensive due to their overheads involved in running their businesses. A good option is to go on-line and search Google.ie
I found a supplier Printerinkcartridges, who sell ink cartridges in...

Original Bic Cristal Pen by
J.B. Wood
Hello, all, and at the risk of revealing my age a bit of trivia: Back in
the early 60s when the subject pen sold for 19 cents the "nose cone" was
all made of solid brass. At that time Bic had TV ads where the pen was
fired from a rifle, attached to the boot of a figure skater, etc to show
how...

Four Hue pencil by

I notice there have been some previous thoughts about four-colour pencils...please forgive me if I am going over old ground.
I have a pencil marked "FOUR HUE" "Made in England"..with spare coloured leads in the barrel...and the mechanism strikes me as being both clever and...

How many 'collect' non-functioning pens? by
Curtis L. Russell
Just curious. For a long time I only had functioning pens, mostly new.
Maybe buying a couple of more flexible older(working) pens was the
beginning of the dam breaking, but lately I've purchased four pens,
all older, all non-functioning. None of them cost over $ 10 and they
all were different in at...

Taylor Pen Ltd. by

Does anyone have information on this pen company from England? They
were suppliers of fine writing instruments to Harrods, Rolls Royce and
Garrard's but I believe no longer exist. Any information would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Pelikan M1000 - How many drops does your barrel hold? by
LarryW[_3_]
If I draw ink v e r y s l o w l y, my M1000 will release up to 20
drops, but the average is more like 17. For such a large capacity
barrel, wouldn't it seem to hold more? The pen was just returned from
Chartpak because of this and 2 other complaints (pen was too dry and
the nib was a bit too...

Storing fountain pens with ink in them? by
scottmandue
Hope I'm not posting too much but I'm new to the hobby and have
lots of questions. So far I have two fountain pens, one I keep at my
desk at work and one I keep at home for doodling and taking notes while
watching TV. The one at work is relatively new, works perfectly, and I
keep it in a coffee cup...

Long-term storage of ballpoints by
Mike S.
Or, more specifically - how to keep the ink from drying out?
I read a pen-related blog wherein the author suggested storing them in
zip-lock plastic bags from which air was removed with a straw prior to
sealing, in order to create a partial vacuum. No followup on whether it
works.
Thinking it...

Montblanc Nib Sizes by
Cliff Reynolds
I just bought a Montblanc Meisterstuck LeGrand from "a guy, who knows a
guy". Please spare me the "I told you so's". I saved a good bit of monay.
And I did get a brand new Meisterstuck LeGrand out of the deal. However, I
requested a "fine" nib. The one that I got was (what I believe to be)...

Parker roller ball pen adapter? by
Why Tea
This is my first post here.
I have a Parker roller ball pen. It seems that the refills mostly
come in medium, which I don't enjoy using. I could see the
fine roller ball refills on the Web, but not in the shops. I'd
much prefer using a ball point refill instead. I'm just wondering
if there is some...
