That's debatable! (A request for help) by
Bob Ingraham
I think I've gotten myself into a programming pickle. A stamp-club
programming pickle.
Recently, in an effort to avoid having our stamp club get into a bit of a
rut, we took a poll to see what kind of activities members would like to
have scheduled for our weekly meetings. I listed several...

Canada stamp ID by
Grandpa
I've a pair of used Canadian stamps I can't ID for sure. As per my 2002
Unitrade they are either 1568/69 or 1600/01, or one of each. Scott Vol3
gives me sizes of 46x22mm(68/69) or 51x25mm(00/01) for the pairs
respectively however my stamps don't fit that schema. The left stamp is
51mmH x 28mmV...

Dear All
Note I am starting this as a new topic as I have no wish to upset
either faction in this discussion.
A thing which no one appears to have considered is the technical
ability of the people participating. As a complete technophobe who has
only just figured out how to switch on editing other...

Earliest time-stamped postmark / cancellation ? by
Nigel Cook
Earliest time-stamped postmark / cancellation ?
Would anyone know where i might find this info?
My local library has no info on cancellation history except for Channel
Islands only, and that was for 1800s.
Anywhere in the world or preferably for England or even better Lancashire...

Since the top-posting and bottom-posting has become a minor battle, I
decided to change up the subject.
Well, which is it and why?

Old collection by
Ian Miller
Hi all,
I have recently received the remnants (2000 +) of an old collection the
majority of which comprises ex-mounted stamps with hinges still attached.
Due to the ravages of time most of these hinges seem almost to be welded (!)
to the stamps. Can anyone suggest a better way of cleaning the...

NOT OT - Stamps and the future by
Grandpa
Given the rate of technological progress we've seen in the last 100
years, I suspect postage stamps will be a thing of the past in 20 years
at most, maybe even 10 years. The thrust is huge to get people to go to
a cashless society and become part of the electronic age using plastic
only for...

Advice required please ! by
Andrew Howes
I have acquired an album with over 100 first day covers from various
countries of the world, all depicting cat related pictures. They are almost
all on envelopes 'Benham of Folkestone' and nearly all of the envelopes have
a gilded or framed picture of a cat in the left half. They are all in...

Protecting and storing American Eagle #3792-3801? by
Steve
What's the best way to store/protect the American Eagle #3792-3801
series. The 11 stamp PNC strip measures 25x300. Did Scott or Prizm
put out a special mount for these? I haven't found any yet.
Thank you,
Steve

Old collection by
Ian Miller
Thank you to all who have replied to my query.
On sober reflection I think I shall follow Bob Ingraham's suggestion and
leave the hinges on so long as they do not intrude too obviously. Aesthetics
aside I have far too many to go through at this stage to spend time soaking
those that do not really...
