A new community space for pen collectors! by
koll
Hello fellow collectors!
I've recently launched a site for collectors (both serious and casual) where anyone can upload data and pix of the things they love to collect. The idea is that collectors can form communities around their collection type, such as pens, and even sub-groups like Parker,...

A New Pen? by
dtf
I was at staples the other day and found a neat rollerball pen.
I had never heard of the company, but the pen writes very nice.
It is made by "yafa" - the style is "schmidt" as written on the pen.
Does any one know of this make? They also sell a fountain pen I am
looking at for around $50. ...

A partial answer to the question of cartridge ink capacity by
R. Paul Martin
Ten days ago I posted a message asking about the ink capacity of
cartridges. No answers so far.
Today I had a little project. I'm planning to use Noodler's Black
(waterproof) to make out all checks from now on since it's very
resistant to "washing." I'll use my Sheaffer Triumph Imperial pen...

A pen thinner than the G2: Execugel et al. by
J44xm
Hello. I just purchased a Pilot G2 gel pen and I think I like the way it
writes, but it's a bit thick for my tastes. I notice that the Execugel is
thinner, but I can't find any opinions about it online. Has anyone tried it
or any other thinner gel pen that you can recommend?

A positve eBay experience by
David Heverly
I've heard so many stories about negative experiences people have had
with eBay, I thought I'd relate a positive one I had.
About a month ago, I won a pen from a seller in Germany. I had
purchased from him before and had always been pleased. The goods were
as represented and his shipping was...

A question for fellow cartridge refillers by

A recent pen purchase by
Inscribed "Conklin" on the clip, this parker looking green pearl pen has a
"Do-Write" nib, piston filled, half the barrell unscrews to reveal a plunger
type filling system.
Awesome smooth wet writer.
Here is the question, is this
A: A Do-Write, belonged to a person named "Conklin"
B: A Do-Write...

A reminder for me of Frank Dubiel by
Norman Haase
I just watched the film "American Splendor" on cable, about the 'cartoonist'
Harvey Pekar. A very absorbing film. He reminded me *so* much of Frank in
many ways...and it wasn't just the shirt! G
Here's a link....one of many through Google:

a steel-nibbed PFM? by
Ingemar Johanson
I think I have come across a steel-nibbed PFM.
It has a silver colored nib, but without the PdAg marking of
Sheaffer's palladium silver nibs. And the cap-lip
bears the inscription "Sheaffer's-R.D. 1960-MADE IN CANADA"
Someone once suggested that the "R.D." imprint indicated that this was
from...

A Tale of Two Pens by
Matt Gabriel, Mad Poet of Newport
So, I wanted a replacement FP to take the place of the little Filcao
Forever I mangled, at least until it's repaired. I bought one well
regarded modern, and one vintage that qualifies for "a classic."
The local Office Max had a Waterman Phileas "starter kit" for $30,
about what the Forever cost...

A Tip About Cleaning by
Bluesea[_3_]
We all know that we need to flush our fountain pens with water occasionally
especially those using cartridges because they don't get the back and forth
action of a bottle-filled pen.
I've just learned the hard way that those of us who refill cartridges should
flush the cartridges at the same...

About modern flexible nibs...?? by
Rara Avis
I would very much appreciate information on which are the modern pens that
come equipped with the most flexible nibs in this nail-oriented market of
ours. Please, relate if you feel so inclined, your experiences in writing
with such pens.
Thanks in advance,
RA

Ack! SITB! by
Pat Lamb
Started to ink a pen last night, when I looked in the bottle and saw a
ball of fuzz floating around in there (Apache sunset, so I could
actually SEE throught the ink in the bottle!).
What do I do now? Do I need to just toss the bottle? Or can it be
salvaged?

ACME pens by
Sally Waters
I've been a bit surprised that ACME pens aren't mentioned that much here.
Although they're a bit heavy for me -- and I find that I can write much
better with them if I leave the cap unposted -- for me, they're the perfect
blend of funky aesthetics and not-too-expensive pen. (I just got the
Simpsons...
