Bruce A. Julseth
Can someone point me to some good pictures that show the difference between
the Type I, II, and III 1972 Silver dollars?
Thanks....

Oh what walked in the shop today! by
Wes Chormicle
I got a phone call today on my cell phone (we we're closed today) from a gal
from Las Vegas, NV (2 hours and a million miles from us). She wanted to
come in today while we were closed with her 80+ year old dad and his
collection. She had heard good things about us and didn't want to deal with
the...

Hoarding copper? by
Nick
Is now the time to start haording the copper
in the form of pre-1982 pennies?
Anybody see the government buying them in the future?
Taking them out of circulation?

Silver being thrown at me... by
Alan Williams
Because today brought yt another 1943-P Jeff in a roll search. With
silver surging past $13/oz, the 20th of an ounce in this coin moves it
close to 15 times face value!
I don't know who is passing these out to the public, but thanks! ;-)

We Are In the Wrong Business Guys!!! Check out SGS grading co. by
BigDog
Just for grins, I went to the SGS home page the other day to see what
their story is.. Long story short, to send items, you need an
authorization, and pay $10 per coin (up to 5) and $13 s/h/i for return.
I fired up the email and asked them for a authorization # and what
their turnaround time was. ...

I feel really bad by
[email protected]
I'm laying in bed, about half awake, when I hear this thud followed by
my wife saying "oh no".
My son hears her also and says "What Mommy?". Of course I am full awake
at this point and hear my wife lamenting the fact that "my mom gave
that to me when I was a little girl". I finally see what has...

Be on the Lookout for Lucky Pennies by

Snip:
===============
Outside the Nasdaq offices in New York City, Travers dispersed the
first of three coins - all pennies - at a food vending stand just
this week: a 1914-D Lincoln cent valued at $300.

Colored Silver Loonies by
Can any one tell me why the Royal Canadian Mint won't sell me the Silver
Loonie's this year.
They said they had an agreement that the US citizens can't purchase this
colored proof coin.
I ask for a copy of the agreement, and they refuse to give it to me. They
refuse to answer me.
I have never been...

Why do my pennies have acne? by
targus
I'm a lurking newbie with a request for help. I opened up a roll of
1983 pennies that I got from the bank back then. I see an indentation
mark on Lincoln, about where a breast pocket might be. Since it's on
every penny from that roll I think it's from the die and not some
sorting machine damage....

Denomination wording on coinage by
JMH
Hi,
Is there any good explanation as to why, for example on different
halves they put the denomination as 50c. vs half dol. vs. half dollar,
or maybe more interestingly, on quarter eagles, they went from 5D. to
five D., etc.?
Id be interested in if there is a guide, either all encompassing,...

aaaacccckkkkk!!!!! My 1999 proof set is toning by
Tom
My 1999 clad proof set is toning. Does this mean
that it is being stored in a bad environment for coins?
Does this mean anything?
I bought it directly from
the mint and have stored it in the same room since then. At least it is toning a nice golden color.
