Mont Blanc Blue Black opinions? by
Aaron W. Hsu[_2_]
Hey all,
What do you think of Mont Blanc's Blue Black ink? I have been using sepia
for a while, and figured that I needed a permanent ink (since I've had a
few runny accidents) and I wanted a change of color. I haven't quite
formed an opinion of it yet, but I thought I would ask here to see...

The battle over ink dry times and why it exists. by
Scaupaug1
It has never been possible to make an ink that won't feather on the majority of
recycled papers....and to simultaneously make that same ink dry instantly on
paper made for ink jet printers. Ink jet ink has 80 to often well over 100
times as many surficants/detergents/spreaders as fountain pen ink...

How to tell Montblanc Replicas? by
Jack Harrell
I was wondering if anyone here could tell me of a surefire way to tell if a
pen is a real Montblanc or a replica? I just bought one that just doesn't
feel right. It has a Montblanc "refill" bp ink insert but I don't know if
that means anything. I figure they probably print refill on all their...

crazy people & ink (esp Pelikans) by
Jolyon Wright
I have noticed a few postings here recently about Pelikans and ink,
which prompts my question: do only crazy people use Pelikan "fount"
non-waterproof indian ink in their Pelikans?
I stumbled on this in an art book that presents Pelikans as
illustration, rather than writing, tools. This book...

President Bush and his Sharpie by
John
I recall reading in more than one place that the President often uses
a Sharpie to make notes or even edit documents. Best that I can
figure is the guy a) likes felt tips (I understand the official pen
and bill signer is a Cross Townsend Selectip Felt) and b) the
permanent ink is good for...

Advice for a newbee by
Mebsuta
Hello all,
Simply, what would be a good fountain pen for a beginner? I have no
experience at all with these, but I must have one. I'm leaning toward
Pelikan because of the great reviews I've read, and their esthetics.
Love that blue and silver 805!
I started researching pens for my wedding guest...

Fountain pen used as a lethal weapon in road rage incident by
Ron Wilbanks
While surfing the Web I ran across this interesting story:
HELD FOR ATTACKING WITH FOUNTAIN PEN
Frank Sawallich, 27, Monday was held on a charge of assault to do great
bodily harm. Walter Reedy 22, who preferred the charge, said Sawallich
attacked him with a fountain pen and stabbed him three...

Day to day pen opinions by
Jimmy
Hello everyone. Anyone at home here? ;)
What do you like every day as a cheap, good fountain pen that doesn't need
to be insured, or carried around in cottonwool by a team of hired guards?
I was pleasantly surprised by the Sailor 1911 "Profit" 14K range. The medium
one, more like a European...

Namiki Vanishing Point? by
mikeG
I know jack about fountain pens, but having bought one recently I'd like to
buy another and have selected the Nimiki VP as a target.
I like the clip design of the pre-Pilot pens and would like to find one for
sale in a common finish that is reasonably priced. I'm not interested in
the original...

silicone grease by
Garglemonster
I found some silicone grease in the plumbing section of the hardware
store. The packaging doesn't list the ingredients, so i'm a bit
hestitant to use it. It's from Moen, the plumbing supply outfit, and
it's supposedly for faucets. Does anyone know if this stuff is safe?
thanks in...

College rule? by
JimL
Just an idle muse question.
The packages of paper cut and punched for three-ring notebook binders
for school children (and old children like me, gathering cheap scratch
paper in the back to school sales). -- The pages are lined, and one
of the two sizes of lines is labelled as "college ruled." ...

FIrst quality pen ... by
William Lee
Just received my first quality pen today.
Its a used but nice black Pelikan M150 bought at eBay auction.
Inked it with Schafer's black and am pleased with the way it writes.
I plan to carry this pen for a few days to see if I like fountain pens
better than roller balls.

Do I have to try another fountain pen? by
Lupner
Hi all and sorry for my English.
Actually I own a Parker Insignia Matte Black CT. It's a ballpoint and I
really like Parker pens and refills, though they sometimes leave little
"blobs" on the paper. I also own a fountain pen, an Aurora Idea C17,
but I'm not satisfied and I never use it. The reason...

Pen recommendations? by
Fredrik Glöckner
I'd like to solicit recommendations for a pen to get for "corporate
use", i.e., a $100-200 nice pen which is nice, well made, and pleasant
to write with. Now, I don't want to start a huge discussion about the
merit of various brands, but my point is that I would like to stay away
from what appears...

How long to flush pen? by
Charter
I have an old Sheaffer desk pen with a snorkel filling system. I had not
used it for a while so I decided to flush it out with water. After a series
of warm water flushes the water was less intensely blue but still quite
blue.
I let it soak over night in about an inch of water. The next day I...

I did it, Ms. Satrap! by
KCat
I put Orange Crush in my Rotring 1.9 mm artpen. Just 'cause I didn't have
anything else to put it in. I might have to find a Core just to have a pen
that suits it. And try to track down more of the ink. I was shocked. I
*liked* it.

Why not just answer questions here? by
bowcan
Hi everyone,
Not trolling, just curious since I frequent FPN & have no compliants against
it.
(Just prefer to have more than one source of information & a.c.p-p is easier
sometimes.)
But I've noticed a trend here.

PR DC Supershow Blue by
Nancy Handy
Have you heard that Private Reserve is not producing any more 2003 DC
Supershow Blue ink? That is unacceptable!
If Private Reserve stops production of 2003 DC SUPERSHOW BLUE, they're
making a huge mistake! To hell with political correctness and
"fairness". They're an ink manufacturer, and they...
