My latest PCGS adventure by Mr. Jaggers
Last year about this time I submitted an 1864 three cent silver to PCGS for grading as a circulation strike. It came back slabbed PR61. I am 100% convinced it is a circulation strike made from dies which had previously made proof coins. I wanted it graded as a circulation strike, so I cracked...

Cent Melt by dlhii
I did some searching to try and figure out if the government had a cent melt in 1943. About all I was able to find was the current 'new' law about melting. I found steel was used because of a copper shortage but nothing about a possible melt. Just something that was rattling around in my head.

Q's abuot selling U.S. silver by Al Dykes
I have about 10 pounds of US silver coinage collected from circulation when that was possible. I'd like to cash it in. With my luck, I don't expect any of the coins are rare. Compared to being sold by weight, how much of a collectible value over face value does a coin have to be worth selling...

Bob Finnan by Friends of Bob Finnan
This is the single best description we've seen of Bob Finnan online so far: "You Finnan are a lonely, mean-spirited misanthrope who gets aroused by insulting people on internet newsgroups." But maybe there are a better ones? We see this as the very beginning of a biography that could take years to...

I can't believe no one posted anything on this. What? Were you guysall waiting for me? (New $100 Bill Images) (I wonder if a new $500 bill wouldbe similar) by Drago the Wolf
http://www.mydollarplan.com/new-100-dollar-bill/ I was a little disappointed with the back of the new $100 at first, because I thought the low-vision numeral would be similar to the $10, $20 and $50's, but now I grew to love both sides of the new $100 bill and the $100 is now by far, my favorite...

When does "misaligned die" become an indication of "doubled die"strike? by [email protected]
I've been trying, without much success, to research this question. I have recently noticed several minor doublings that I first notice in doubled rim strikes; sometimes as many as 3 strikes for what appears to be on the face to be a doubled strike. Often the variation is rather minor. But I have...
