Fun at B&N by
Denton Taylor
So, I was looking to pick up a copy of Isabelle Allende's latest in
preparation for an upcoming NYC signing. Stopped in the B&N Chelsea to
grab one. I went thru a stack of over twenty without finding a single
copy that didn't have a spine crush top, bottom, or both. Disgusting.
Next stop, my local...

Why first editions are easy for me..... by
hollowayd
When I first started selling books many years ago I acted as a
bookscout for other dealers. Every Saturday I'd head out to the garage
sales, estate sales, thrift shops, library sales...anywhere cheap
books could be found then drag my finds around to local used
bookstores. I remember that it was a...

help with identifying a story by
henry
I'm trying to get the title to a story I read some years back. It was a
science fiction story, I think in an anthology. I don't remember the
author :(
The story involves a painting that contains tiny hidden faces. These
faces are in fact people's souls (demons, maybe?), and when the
protagonist...

Can anyone identify this book? by
rrb
This book had a "story within a story". One of the characters told a
story about a young man whose head was flattened (lollipop shape) and
had a white wolf as a companion. The character in the man story told the
flattened head story serial style. I can't find anyone who recalls this
book. I'd...

Donated books by
[email protected]
Hi,
I am a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras. I am very interested in
building a library in my town, we have a population of about 2,000
children and the only library is this shelf sitting in the
municipality filled with outdated material, most of which is unrelated
to education. I was checking...

two books; same title by
Robert Harmon
I have two copies of the same book (Outlander by Diana Gabaldon), both
mint/mint or new/new. One is a 1st/1st, the other is a 1st/2nd flat signed
& dated by the author.
If you were to price these for sale which would you mark the highest?

Penny-Ante Pests & the ALP by
[email protected]
A number of dealers have exressed annoyance at
a situation on Amazon which occurs something
like this: Dealer A has a book he feels he can
sell profitably for $14, which gives him the ALP,
the Amazon Low Price.
Dealer B, who had listed another copy
at $15.50, re-lists the same item, not at...

Can anyone point me to a site which lists the various published editions

printing histories. I've thrashed around with Google but with little
success, sadly.
